    GTR spindles+struts vs GTX

Can someone tell me whether the GTR struts will fit to the GTX spindles. Do the spindles have the same upper thickness to where the strut mounts?

no they do not, GTR ones are thicker as far as i know.

+1, tabs are farther apart, bolt holes different spacing, ya can't get there form here. 'Course you could always grind em off and weld new tabs on, but you better get the bolt holes in the right place or you'll have alignment issues.

Ok that's what i though. The thing is I have an MX6 spindle with me and it looks amazingly similar to the GTR one Jay posted pics awhile back. It is wider and requires wider tabs. So i'm thinking if the MX6 stuff is similar to the GTR stuff (it really looks like, i have to measure though) i could fit the MX6 front struts and spindles on my 4WD and have a front GTR 5 lug conversion.

Will need to make hybrid axles I believe but i'll measure, I have both at home.

The rear is a bit more complicated though, still have to ressearch that.

Do you happen to know what is the transmission spline count on the GTR? I have an MX6 complete axle and I could tell you tonight the spline count on that axle.

look up a 1990 4wd protege, the axles are the same. i have a feeling the length may be way off to use fwd mx6 axle parts.

Because the GTR uses different hubs, the axle outer spline count (the one going into the hub) is different between the GTR and the GTX (If i'm not mistaken) but because the trannies are the same, i'm assuming the inner spline count is the same. Anyways, looks like noone really tried that so i'll take measurements sometimes this week and post up the results.
