          Also in Canada you look for LX,s not ES,s.
          Our bp,s were LX and the US got the ES.
          If you wanna swap look for 95 323,s for donor purposes (neo cars) they have fully compatiable drive lines.

            i need to do some reading in this thread;
            it might be difficult for me to grab a donor car and also have somewhere to put it..

            i wonder how hard it would be to source all the parts..and what exactly i would need.

              lol, finding a 1.8L Neo is harder than finding a 1.8L Protege. Heck, finding a Neo at all is harder than finding a 1.8L Protege.

                Guess i just got lucky ;-)
                The thing with Neos is that no body looks for them.
                There is also the KIA as well to consider for donor purposes.

                    Soo right now i'm sitting with a 1.5ATX;

                    I'm probably going to just do a manual swap this year followed next year by a BP swap if all goes well.

                    So the sourcing of parts will being shortly;
                    As far as i can see right now.

                    F-Series Tranny <-- 97 or 98?
                    New Clutch for it
                    Linkages
                    shifter assembly
                    pedals

                    ECU? for the ecu how do they range?
                    1.5 atx
                    1.8 atx
                    1.5 mtx
                    1.8 mtx
                    ....?

                      F-series is 96-98
                      But if you're going to swap might as well look for a G-series, and settle for an F

                        Of course the G-series only came in the 95, so good luck.

                          It's not hard, just check car-part for a 1995 with the last letters of the VIN engine in BA or a get a trans out a 1994-1997 Kia Sephia.

                            Did all those Sephias come with G-series or just some?

                                how about the little list i had above

                                F-Series Tranny <-- 97 or 98?
                                New Clutch for it

                                shifter assembly
                                pedals
                                am i missing anything major.

                                and also for the ECU?

                                right now i'm at 1.5 ATX

                                and i'm going to 1.5 MTX

                                then next year 1.8 MTX;

                                would i have to get an ecu now..for the mtx swap..then another one..for the 1.8?
