Awesome write-up, I'm already pricing out parts to go start placing orders.

I have a couple of questions on the Subaru calipers:

Can you explain what you mean by " this may have changed during the Subi models, but you need the one with 1 bolt , not 2." Aren't all calipers held on with 2 bolts?

Does it have to be the wagon calipers? Those turbo Imprezas are fairly rare here so it's not so much a junkyard find. Parts stores just have them listed as the "L" model or the "Sport" model, and so far I'm fairly certain it's the ones listed as "Sport" model since you can see the 2 pistons in the picture shown. http://www.autozone.com/selectedZip,.../selectZip.htm

I think my first question is answered in the autozone link I posted since I can see one bolt head on the back of the caliper, but it looks like another bolt should go on the opposite side so I just want to confirm. These will probably have to be special ordered so no refunds if I get the wrong ones.

        What he said!

as for the subi models and brakes

some one said that SUbi legacy RS (sedan) have different brakes, some Subi calipers are 2 bolt and will not work

the one you need is the 1 bolt, as pictured in the link above
it sits on a arm/bolt thing, the swings out to change the pads

Do you have any pictures comparing the complete BA spindle to the BG spindle? How different is the tie rod mounting location? How will this affect ackerman/bumpsteer? How is the ride height affected? Does the distance between the ball joint and strut remain the same? Big brakes are great, but not if you have to screw up the steering/suspension geometry in order to get them. These spindles might be the ultimate upgrade as far as anyone knows, but I wouldn't feel confortable randomly swapping out crucial suspension components with out knowing exactly how the new part is going to affect the way my car reacts/handles. Just something to consider before going crazy looking for these spindles.

BA is basically the next gen BG. & shares many many common parts, i wouldn't see a problem between spindles.

                      They bolt in

Tie rods are the same, and fit the hole
                      bolts to the Strut fine
Bolts to the lower arms fine

When fitted with the 5 studd bearings have the same spline count as the 4 stud, or you can just swap out the 5 for a 4

                      BA VS BG
                      only pic i have http://img245.imageshack.us/img245/5...27smallge0.jpg

The main problems are getting the correct Brake calipers and brakets
