i find it hard to believe that it could be THAT far off... heres some reference points.

    323 (1990-1994) 96.5"
    Protege (1990-1994) 98.4", (1995-1996) 102.6", (1999-2003) 102.8"
    MX3 (1992-1995) 96.3"
    626 (1984-1987) 98.8", (1988-1992) 101.4", (1993-1996) 102.8"
    MX6 (1988-1992) 99", (1993-1995) 102.8"

from that list it sounds like the 88-92 mx6/626/probe chassis would be the best bet for donor spindles...

When comparing the BJ spindles to the BG spindles, the difference was huge. Acording to your numbers, if wheel base was the only differences between these cars, then yes, the first gen MX6 spindle would be the closest match. But that doesn't really mean it will be close at all. Ya know?

Get them, measure them up, and see how different they are. Who knows they may even even improve the steering from a performance stand point... It's unlikely but possible.

Jon, what are these measurements from? What point to point are you using? It seems nothing is the same! I thought all the 22-14 spindles were identical, as well as the 22-13 spindles....

Dave, what is the distance between the caliper bracket points on the spindle?

Also i found this lil info

              276x24mm
This uses a two piston sliding front caliper and there are three caliper/bracket designs. One for the 91-94 Legacy SS/TW, an early Legacy 2.5GT/Impreza RS bracket (~96-99), and a Later RS/GT bracket (02+). Post ~98ish calipers are interchangeable between brackets, and will also exchange onto the taller wrx brackets (as long as they are both of the same style). I have also heard that you can even put the later 1-pot calipers on these brackets. They fit under 15" wheels.
              Applications:
              91-94 Legacy turbo
              96-02 Legacy GT/Outback
              00-04 Legacy non-GT
              98-07 Impreza RS/TS/2.5i
              98-02 Forester

Ok, i'm sure i'll figure it out. Since i might be getting some front spindles from my friends 91 mx6 turbo.

You said you used the 88-92 caliper brackets, so im going to try the whole spindle/bracket assembly

Well, I'm too confused to try this, I want to upgrade the rears of my LX to at least what the front is.

My rear right is seizing up and I need to park it until it's repaired, the bearing are shot by now I'm sure.

I think the stock breaks suck, and I want to be able to counter possible accidents in half the distance I stop at normally now.

not sure if this has been covered or not
but while i was at the J/Y looking at the lantis BA V6 hub last weekend
the car next to is was a Mazda 626 (GE chassie) it has the same writing on the hub, but the lower ball joint was different, as the arms are different

i checked the distance between the bolt holes for the struts on the 626, and appears to the be the same as the BH and BG with in 1 mm(bit of string to messure), im going back to have another look again,,prolly gona get the hubs for my V6 KLZE swap..so i can have the 2pots again (i sold them)

could be something to look at if you US ppls get these GE cars? because all you'd have to do is get the MX3 94+ lower ball joints to make it work
