      Yes. And thank you. The hood struts are from eBay for a 2000 impreza I think. Was about $50 or so.

      Got the alignment today.

      The bolt for the shift linkage is hitting the rear lower tranny mount now. So eventually I will need to take that bolt out and grind the head down. It didn't do that until After I replaced that mount, so either the mount Is thinner, or the tranny mount bolt was not as tight.

      Also, my clunk is gone. But I think i have a exhaust leak between the exhaust manifold and down pipe and it has been setting the check engine light for the o2 sensor and rich/ lean condition code. So whenever I get back under the car, I will adjust both issues. Until then, time to rack up the miles. 297,464 and counting. (1 year with no working speedo cable, so prob more towards 317xxx actual miles on the body). Click image for larger version

          Nope. None at all. I expecting something to be said, but they aligned it right up. It's the same fender height and they have a flat drive on alignment machine, so I can only imagine the stuff they have aligned.

          The other store about 20 mins away can't get mine on their alignment machine bc the angle of the ramps are too steep.

              Had a exhaust leak. Ordered the wrong gasket. SOHC still on my mind. I made it work, lol.

              The guy also drilled out my SOHC downpipe so I need to order a DOHC downpipe. Does anyone know if the pre converter flange is the same between the SOHC and DOHC cars? If not, that may be why he did what he did?

                Ordered SS Apex Brake lines and clutch line from Raymond Chan on FB. Product looks really good!

                Also, Monday, my alternator took a crap but I made it 50 miles home on 11v. That XS Power battery is a beast!

                Ordered a 110a alt and AC Delco Pro belts. I plan to Install Saturday afternoon. Maybe get the brake lines installed and bled with the Motive power bleeder as well.

                And maybe, just maybe, but I doubt it, get the PS lowered another 1/4 so both sides are the same height, around fender height 23.5".

                  Replaced the alt last night. On the SOHC , I can pull it from the top. On the DOHC, I had to unbolt the shifter stabilizer bar and remove the exhaust hangers and drop it from the bottom. What a PITA. I didn't even feel like messing with the brake lines or the coilovers.

                    gets a little tighter with the DOHC's. also i think you'll be happy with the apex lines. Ive installed them before on a honda accord thats still running today @ 378k. IMHO they are a sound option.

                      This car is fighting me, but she has 299, 128 miles, so I guess it's due.

                      So,

                      Ds front axle boot needs to be replaced. It's been 6 yrs, so that's no biggie. Rear PS Mfactory coilovers sprung a leak. MFactory says they got a bad batch of seals. Alt belt broke late one night coming home, so I cut the PS/AC belt and put a new alt/ do belt on, so doing that I lost the ps pump cap. I think thats it, lol.

                      While o have the car up waiting on the strut insert, I'll try to put the apex stainless steel brake/clutch line on and bleed, and paint the rear disc drums high temp black. I guess I have a week or so. I also may remove the door panels and the them black and figure out why the rear ps door has seem to lost power. And maybe notch the rear CS strut bar, since it's not fitting.

                        Got more done today than I thought I would.

                        Rear PS strut removed. Ps/AC belt installed, but not bled. Stainless brake lines installed.

                        Still need to figure out if Imma do a universal outer cv boot.

                          do yourself a huge favor, tuck in the SS lines as much as possible so they don't rub on the insides of the wheel itself.

                            I sure will. The head of the stainless steel lines wnt go in the oem slots, so I may have to zip tie them

                              Wow dude, those struts are really blown, I'd be pissed! Although even BC has had blown shocks from factory, still, that was a small-production run for specific buyers..

                              Also, are those lines teflon coated? If not, ditch em' anyway. When I put my Technafit lines on (best bang for buck lines) I had a hell of a time properly mounting up the U and circlips. Plus, I was manhandling one of them on install (probably from trying to figure out clip orientation), and called them up and they sent a new one out same day.

                              I have no idea why BGs love eating alt belts. Kitty said that even from the factory you have to max out on tighten in order to keep the belt taught, which makes sense as I went through 3-4 belts (and alts because autoz is **** for alts and ac comps) so that's why I'm going with the MPV alternator upgrade.. Strangely on this current BG (about the same miles as you), I'm running a pretty old alt and belt and hasn't given me any issues.

                              I'll tell you what though, there is no worse feeling than hearing a weird clunk and seeing that laser red "charge" light and coolant temp soaring.
