Yes and no. Yes, they would look good, but then his lips might not fit the new bumpers, and I think those are an important thing on his car. Without them, it would look like every other protege. The one thing I think should be done is get rid of those dx badges on the front fenders! lol, and swap a dohc head on.

I could possibly make the front lip fit a jdm bumper. I had to easily take 4 inches out of the front and rear lips. Maybe they would be wide enough and the side contours match up decently.

If i do a swap, im going straight for the klze, built to oem specs and a mx3 gs 5 speed tranny since i have to buy and convert everything anyway.

I'm glad i did to. And putting that piece of v belt in there helped alot too. No wiggle or up and down movement.

I feel like the visors added a lil to much with the car. Looks too "busy."

But the front drop still does not tickle my fancy. In the future, maybe next year, imma order some 250 or 300lb 6" (~1 in drop) front spring and finish trimming down where the perches were (maybe .2 - .5 drop) and maybe i"ll actually have to adjust the coilovers up some for a change.

And I wonder how long it will take someone to notice that this knob does not have a regular shift pattern on it, lol.

Also note that the stock shifter, on the left, has been cut down about 3 inches as well. From the ball to the mount is the same distance, but for some reason, it feels better. I got mu ES stabilizer bushing in the mail, now i just have to spend 10 mins to install it.

ya I took my sweet time with my cut off wheel and grinder when I was doing the spring perches lol, I had it buzzed off right to the welds (in the rear, never had to do the fronts) and then used a file to round off the sharp edges.

that shiftknob looks pretty good there though lol I bet no one interested in cars will notice the numbers/letters stamped on it tho lol

Well, i got pissed after i dropped one of my es300 fogs and cracked the lens, so after that, I kind of fell out of the modding mood.

But after i buy some 6" springs (read next year, maybe) I'll take my dremel to the rest of the perch and leave just the weld. I really want to take one of the lock collars out and see where the height goes from there, but eh. I don't care that much to spend the 30 mins to do it, then spend 2 hrs at firestone getting a alignment.

And as far as the shift knob goes, I had a nut that was the same thread pitch as the msp shifter, so i just went around the pap twisting knobs off every 5 sp car to see what worked. I came across the 4 runner. It was the correct thread pitch, it was leather, decent shape, some character, different and low profile. $1.57 and 30 seconds later, it was a new addition to Maxine.

                        Now she's part Nissan.

A few cars on here have them, but I couldn't come across any and I'm sure if I did, I wouldn't have paid the price a premium for them either. The AVS ones dnt stick out as far as i thought they would, but I kind of prefer the darker visors over the oem semi see through. The fit and finish on the oem pieces look 100% better. I know on the M3, its all the difference between the oem and aftermarket visors.

But seeing as this car is no where in the best condition, I can over look the small details like this for the greater and cheaper good.

Plus, I'm no purist. Function over Form, most of the time.
