    The Project...

Well, when the mazda323performance.com website was up, I had a lot of pics posted and a nice history going of my project. Even though I lost a lot of documentation, I at least have the pics.... I figure I'll sort of start over except that I think I'm almost done with modding my ride. There's a few things left that I want to do, but I want to keep it somewhat comfortable as it is my daily.....

If this pic shows up, it's the only one I have of both my BFs. I have since sold my LX (the maroon monster). Before selling, I stripped all the good parts/mods to put on my GT.

I live my life a quarter pounder at a time. And for those 500 calories or more, I'm free. I need FRIES! Two of them. The big ones. Oh, and I need them tonight. You're lucky the double shot of BBQ sauce didn't blow the seam on your nugget box. There she is, 2 pounds of pure beef. My dad ate it in 9.0 seconds flat. Check it out, it's like this. If I lose, winner takes my happy meal. But if I win, I take the burger and the toy. To some people, that's more important.

The pics will have to wait until I get home. ImageShack is blocked by my work's server along with like 80% of the rest of the internet (but not this sight!). I'll throw several pics up tonight of the two I-Mark bumpers that I have put on. The first one was on my maroon monster (check first pic of both cars nose-to-nose).

I still cant' get over how well it matched up to the nose of the 323. Custom brackets had to be made to hang it, but other than that, I couldn't be more please as far as the cost and being able to come up with some way of providing more room for my FMIC. And, it doesn't look like I did some hack job on the stock set-up in order to accommodate that FMIC (no offense to anybody who did chop their front). I was going for a cleaner, street look rather than the racetrack look.

I also have a chrome mesh grille that I want to place in the opening in front of my FMIC, but haven't gotten around to it yet.

Okay... here's are some pics of the first I-Mark bumper I bought. One of the other members on the old 323performance forum suggested it as a possibility after he put one near a 323 in the j-yard, so I went for it when I found on in the yard.

Here's a pic from the same meet but from a "head-on" view. We all thought it was pretty close. We were impressed that it was that close...

Here we are one day at my house when we decided to "go for it". Holding it up into place the first time looked good. We had to really think about how to make brackets though since nothing behind matched up very well.

Here it is on the car and painted. What I like is how well it matches the fender well. Unbelieveable fit.

Then, I found another one in the j-yard and held onto it just in case. Behold, I got me a GT! I knew exactly what I was going to do with that extra bumper! Here are some pics with it on before I got around to painting it.

Then, I finally did get a break in teh weather and enough time to go for the paint... Also, I cut the grill section out of the main opening in the front in order to get the clearance for my FMIC. I have a chrome grill piece to go in there to hide the intercooler to make it even more of a sleeper.

The FMIC hung down a little too low so I found that the early 90's 626 lip fit. Sorry, no pics of that yet, I I just had to drill a few holes and bolt it up. I'll get pics of that later. Okay, ask questions... LOL

Hey! Neuman! I didn't know you were here??? Awesome. I don't know what happened. I guess the owner of the domain let it lapses and never started it back up or something. Maybe the server/company he was going through wnet belly-up? Who knows.... All I know is we lost a LOT of stuff including the "how-to's".... Man, I don't know if I'll ever be able to get cruise control on my car now. LOL

Didn't you sell your black beast? What are you drivin' now?

The challenge is finding one in good shape. There weren't many I-Mark RS's sold. Then there are those who have damaged the front bumper and all those that have gone bye-bye that we didn't get from the j-yard because we didnt' know they were a good item to grab in case people wanted one. Every time I go to the yard I look for them just in case. Unfortunately, I haven't been to the yard in months due to the weather and being super busy. I do plan on going soon though like in a week or two and again, I'll look around in case someone else wants one.
