    Gtx Owners

As most of us know there were only 1,243 88-89 Mazda 323 GTX's in north america. Since then how many have been totaled rally racing, junked cause of high milage/rust, or just lost? I want to know how many are left and start an actual list of the people that actually have one of these very rare cars and still care about them.

Please post your frist name and one pic of your GTX.

I can knock 2 off the list, both silver GTXs, both at a local junkyard about 2 years ago.

Best estimates would be around 500-300 maybe... most in barns or garages where people don't even know what they are. Most of the true GTX guru's aren't on this forum as far as I can tell.

I found a black 88 (I think) GTX in a yard a few years back. It got crushed though.

my buddies friend used to have one a few years back... i guess it was rotted out really badly when he finally sold it, snow coming through the floor boards and packing up under the carpet bad. who knows where it is now.

Brandon's GTX ( I've owned three, one that would have made a good rally car, one a parts car, and one a nice solid car )

I drove 10 hours each way to pick up this car from wisconsin....Needed a trans, which was a fair tradeoff since i'm no bodyman. Car has had some thorough rustproofing and is stored every winter...

My '88 is just sitting in my back yard (side yard) hoping that someone will come along and want to finish the project I started... If that doesn't happen, eventually I hope to get back to it. By then, a blown head gasket will become a need for an entire engine.

I just joined the forum, but actually have 2 GTXs.

I just bought one from the sturtevant.com gtx list, a $1000 88. Amazing deal, and although it needs a head (just ordered one on eBay for $75 shipped!), it came with some serious parts. Rod Millen bodykit, HKS boost and EGT gauges, HKS EVC boost controller, some DP 15" wheels, and a HKS PFC F-CON. Has dirtra struts, suspension techniques rear bar and some aftermarket front bar. Handles great for a dead cylinder and rotted tires.

                              cleaned up okay:

The second one is one I bought from Road Race Engineering's parking lot. $1500. It has a RRE-installed super low mile BP-T engine and transmission. It had never been made running, so the engine is still perfect. Includes like 5 socketed b6 ECUs, and Mike W (owner of RRE) is tossing in any and all GTX bits he has lying around. The car also has dirtras.

Also, the best part is these cars are both SoCal lifers, aka no rust and most rubber is in good condition.
