It's available at Canadian tire for $9.99/can. It's just called, "Truck Bed Coating"

I'll get a picture of the can when I head out there tonight (and their part number, since I buy it at PartSource - a company they own - that can lookup their number). With the staff discount, it's about $~16.50 w/ tax for a pair.

Today I'll head out to finish up the work on the driver's side floor. I expect to paint it, then get to work re-installing the interior.

The power cable will also be run to the front today and tied down at various points along it's way. The trunk should be completely assembled by this evening (save for the pieces coving the rear struts, those will have to stay out for a bit).

Also, I got the front Escort ZX2 S/R struts assembled with the factory Escort GT springs and upper mounts from a ZX2 as well.

The fun came when I had to install the upper spring mounting plate. On the Escort GT "spring isolator," the hole where the strut comes through is shaped like a circle with opposing sides having two small flat sections. The ZX2 S/R struts are simply a slightly larger perfect circle. So, out comes the die grinder and we're set.

Proving funds and remaining time, I should have the rear ones assembled and maybe installed tonight.
I peered out from the castle window and looked over the splendor of ROTM county. Yes, twas' a much simpler time back then. Peasants would go about their postings, and I, the mod, would rule over them with an iron fist.

Finished painting the interior. I decided to get to work on the exhaust since it was rotted to crap anyways.

        Laying out the pipes.

Made some brackets to mount the muffler where I wanted. I still have to make a rear mount and reinforce the driver's side mount still.

        Got the carpet installed.

The battery cable coming from the back.

And somewhere up here when I get the engine harness installed.

        Got the manual seatbelts installed.

The rear seats installed as well.

I'm a big fan of 1/4". I try to only build things once.

            Exhaust manifold removed.

Horrible valve cover oil leak cleaned up.

            Intake manifold removed.

Fel-pro, for all your gasket needs.

            And the intake apart.

Intake side of the motor wiped up of dripping oil.

            Gasket surfaces cleaned up.

Lower part of intake manifold painted in a flat-black flameproof base paint to act as a primer.

And the top coat layer of hammered black.

              Let's get cracking.

Swapping out the valve cover gasket. The old gasket was old and brittle as all hell.

The 'primer' coat of flameproof flat black on the upper intake manifold.

The lower portion of the intake manifold installed. Hammered black is a great colour.

Exhaust manifold installed with new gaskets, of course.

Fixed up the valve cover with the same flameproof + hammered black combo. I love it.

              Installed.

Transmission installed. This took about an hour as the clutch was misaligned and caused all sorts of screwy crap. I sorted it out after two or three transmission pulls.

              Ready to load.

              Turns out, it wasn't. I put the rear transmission mount on backwards and caused myself to install and remove the engine three times previous to this shot;

              Classy.

Ran my power wire, tied it down, and mounted some emissions equipment.

Re-mounted the fuse box and plugged it into the body harness. No trouble here.

              So purdy.

New 180*F thermostat and gasket installed for good measure. The head looked nice and clean inside, so I'm happy there's no disgusting rust problem in there.

He's motivation to get this project done. I want that to me soon.

The Escort engine harness had plugged in flawlessly to the 323 body harness except for this one plug. The 323 plug had to be "trimmed" to accept the larger (and useless wires for my application) plug.

              ECU installed and wired.

Cleaned up some of the crap lying around. It's getting closer.

See you tomorrow with some new fuel injector o-rings!

I'm glad even the local legends appreciate the effort (and the photos!).

I'll have the intake manifold hopefully taken care of this weekend. I doubt I'll start it up as I'll still need to fabricate my intake tube - the rubber factory piece was destroyed as usual.

Other than that, things are going pretty smoothly. I'll still have to do some quick tom foolery involving the automatic engine harness and the 5-speed clutch switch. I mean, I know what I have to do, but I physically have to get off my ass and test my work on the car. I've got to run a few good ground straps and all the wiring should be pretty much taken care of. The fuel rail has been modified using some clamps and proper high-pressure rubber hose.

If you cut the factory nylon (black plastic) fuel line that Ford puts on their fuel inlet, you'll find it has two perfect little barbs to clamp behind. So, I triple clamped on the high pressure hose that will run back to the filter. The return line was swapped with the B6 rail to retain the simple rubber hose setup as well.

I still need to change the oil, pickup some coolant, transmission fluid for the F-series trans, and one other key item - the radiator. Mine was in less than ideal condition, so a new one should probably be in order. I was looking at that $159 eBay 'all aluminum oh my god race parts" radiator that was up. I might just go with a new OEM style radiator assuming it's cheap at work.

I was going to do an oil change on the Focus, but I couldn't find an oil filter wrench and it wasn't budging by hand.

                        Fuel rail installed.

                        Return line hooked up.

Getting ready to install the upper manifold.

Soldered a wire to the Mazda thermostat sensor I needed to put into the Ford motor to get the gauge to read properly.

                        Installed.

Upper manifold installed with throttle body.

                        New ground straps ahoy.

Throttle cable installed. Brake booster feed line hooked up. I'm sure there's other little **** too.

Interior is all in there as well.

Let me know if you need any help with the auto-manual stuff.

And, The F-Series tranny on My MX-3 has held up EXCEPTIONALLY well to the abuse of my NA BP. I autocross it regularly and have fun in my car.

The key is an upgraded SPEC Stage 2 Clutch.

                              Looking good!
