The absolute minimum we would require is 10, yes, but the more we are able to confirm, the easier it will be for us to proceed (in regards to processing/treatment etc)

Each individual can pay us directly (paypal is fine), rather than needing to pay a single individual who then pays us in lump sum. Makes no difference to us, whatever is easier for you guys.

So is the current LSD that we are looking at the G? Which vehicles/models use the H?

The H is used in the Turbo 626/MX6, 88-92.

And I know of a few 4WD guys (myself included) who'd want a helical center/front diff for our transmissions, as well as rear. But that'll save for another day/thread.
No car! I soldz it. Now I have a truck. I like it, but apparently it has a hard time keeping up with a slightly modified 4WD protege with half the hp. Neat.

yes the current LSD ive been speaking with you about is for the G series transmission. the H series came in the probe/mx6/626 2.2 turbo and 3.0 vulcan v6 i believe (less common fitment, but a stronger overall transmission). they are 28 spline but have a different number of ring gear bolts and use larger bearings. basically it would just involve some different specs for the housing, the internals could remain the same. this would be for a separate and smaller crowd though... we ought to get the G-series diff in the works first i think.

as i mentioned here and in my email, some people would be very interested in having a 26 spline "option" even if it incurs some additional cost on top of a "standard" 28 spline unit. i can send you a sample of both style G-series differentials, and a case if needed.

edit: beat me to it craig

indeed as jon said. the H differential has 12 bolts rather then 10 & uses larger bearings(I.E. less machine work to the bearing surface & a different bolt pattern, minor changes to a CAD program is all) the length remains the same

stephan, what words of wisdom/advice can you say in regards to this quote

The angle and tooth form of the helix used, the number of pinions used, and many other factors (including the particular car fitted) all contribute to how the differential behaves and biases drive torque

Also this may be of some use. idk if jon already sent you something like this or not. specs for a quaife

Add me to that list, but I'm going to have to take myself off the traction bar group buy.

The actual design of each transmission component does certainly play a big role in determining how well each component works (for example, the tooth profile and gear ratio inside the diff). A transmission is not just made of one component, but a vast number of them and must be designed to work together and includes a lot of other variables such as component weight and even driving style. The better you can get everything to work together, the more efficient your transmission will be, whether this means better traction or more power put to the ground

                    Thanks for the Quaife diagram

It seems there certainly is a lot of interest in these, so hopefully we can get the ball rolling very soon. What we will need first though before any payment is taken is a sample of the oem diff so that we can take our measurements.

Maybe if you can get a 26 spliner

I have a set of the 28 axles right now...but damn that was a pain in the ass to snag.

Would have been a lot easier to use my stock 26 spline axles for sure.

i'm going to send in a 26 spline and 28 spline diff, hopefully we can do both without much trouble. i *think* that the entire diff should be able to be kept the same aside from the two side gears which contain the splines. so that would be just two small components that would need to be changed to make the diff one or the other. of course we will leave this decision up to the engineers at mfactory

i'd like to make this something that will fit probes, mx6's, 3rd gen pros etc. the thing is that EVERYTHING uses a 28 spline except the BG. and the only BG that cant use the kia axles is the 97+ escort. have i said this enough times? i know you guys want it to be a direct plug and play, and so do i... i'm just trying to be realistic with the number of people and whatnot.

as far as hotwheels making a list as to who's in on this, who's trying to organize this again......?

if you have ~$350 to send in as a deposit RIGHT NOW, send me a PM and i will add you to the official list. obviously we are not taking deposits yet, but i want an idea of the actual number of people that may be in on this. if you "think you might have the money when your christmas bonus comes in and you sell your parts car and you move into a smaller apartment"... dont bother right now lol.

jon, PM me the address you'll be shipping your differentials from are you drilling out the rivets & removing the ring gears prior? or how are you sending them?
Id like to get my H differential into the mix as well.

sorry im just excited i got money i will pm you, not to be off topic but the capri xr2 its 26 spline right? i dont care because im either going to need custom axles or a custom intermiate shaft, it would probably be easier for me to have a custom intermiadate shaft and keep my axles but what ever nothing for my car will ever be plug in play DOE!
