    Winter project (piston ,ring , tranny, head work)

    Yes , winter his approaching and im starting to buy my stuff for my BPT.
    And i would like some help , advice from u guys

    First , iv noticed that motor was taking , then burning and smelling oil. I think i have dammaged 4th piston, and most of piston ring are dammaged too.

    - I buying: 4 wiseco forged piston(0.020 oversize) with appropriated rings and pin lock. Im making piston top ceramique coated and dry lube for the ring set (50 $ each / 2 treatement)

    Then lots of smoke was coming out of the exhaust when im starting the car.....most pepeole told me valve seal were bad.

    -I dont'know what should i change????.....all valve systeme, only valve seal, only dammage valve seal?!?!...keep stock bpt valve....go with sodium filled gtr one? Should i get the head ported? ceramique coated?

    After this , second gear started to enter really bad (feeling resistance) and most of what i red about this bpt tranny is : its the same as escort gt , protégé gt 1991 93... and was kind of cheap crap.

    -So i'm thinking about changing the syncro!?!?

    Then radiator was bad and had hole in it!!! it got sealed with liquid but i dont think its long term issue.

    -i found ss radiator with fan spal slim line, coolant tank for 300$ (should i buy it)looks like it came from corksport.


    ***I found couple of guys who cando the work.....speedshop from montreal gave me 2400$ for changing piston only and taking motor in/out of the car!!
    i think i could find kind of the same price for almost all of my modification buy buying all part before!!

    you shouldnt have used that quick fix thing.. as for the synchro... try using REDline Fluid.. it helped my transmission alot.. my second gear used to grind alot..

      2400, pathetic!

      Why start buying stuff when you don't even know what you are getting into?

      Impulse buy...

      If it would have been me, I would just bought a piston ring set, rod bearings (that is if the pistons are not melted), and bought a used cylinder head from a GT or a Proteger, Mercury, Kia... The seals are expensive, it is very rare that they go out, have you checked shaft play on the turbo.

      Let me know how much you want for the pistons, lol. You honestly do not know what is wrong with the car and to top it off bought tha ghetto quick seal for the rad... LMAO

        C'mon guys.

        I'm trying to save money. I got this price from Advanced efi in
        montreal....they are Honda tuner.....

        I just want to buy couple part before doing the oversize.4 wiseco piston 200$coated and dry lube for 40$...... what'S wrong with that?

        Radiator is from i dont know what and got rust and dammage on it .......so why buy new one before winter?

        Also if no dammage to head or valve i wont change a thing....that would be idiot
        so.
