Voted for $500, figure if I brought it down to a local tranny shop for a full rebuild parts would be $250-300 and it would take a experinced person with the correct tools 2.5-3.5 hours at $70/hour for the build.

I voted for $200 just because I am cheap and you said what we would honestly pay, I would be willing to pay 400-500 though if you would install my LSD while you were in there :-)

A few years ago I was able to source the internals for about 225-250 (bronze and bearings, and seals). That's just the parts, not any labor.

I was able to find a place that did a complete rebuild 850 shipped plus core a few years ago also.

I've seen guys say local shops do it for around 650 or so.

If I were you I'd take everything below 400 right out of the poll. 200 plus parts, in my opinion, is a damned good deal, considering there's no warrantee or taxes involved.

This reminds me, I really need to get myself a good dial indicator. lol!

i put the whole range of poll options in there to see just how cheap everyone here is, and if its actually worth doing this lol.

i could do SPI internals, yes... but in order to use the final drive you would need to find a kia case to put them in. there arent any around here... i've looked... i had to have shawn ship me one from FL. if you just want the gear ratios (with your stock 4.10 final) i could do that.

i was asking for a guy off of FEOA.
ill be happy with a rebuilt kia tranny with the LSD installed.
but ill let him know to check this out.

i voted awhile ago for $400 , but this is considering the fact that shipping an 85 lb hunk o trans would add about $200 round trip.

then again finding a reliable shop locally can be a pain, especially down here where 85% of the retards are looking to rip off some richboy.

                              rebuild kits?

I'd be interested in a rebuild kit.
