Need part # and name---Heater bypass hose?

I am in need of this part number and name. (92 Mazda Protege DX.) It doesn't look like the heater bypass hose in any of the listings on the net. It's about 5 inches long, 5/8 inch hose. It fits between the head/block and the metal heater hose. it is a preformed hose. All the parts places we have went, wants to give us a straight hose,,and it doesn't work because of the 2 curves. I have a photo if that will help.

Thanks so much for all your help.

This is a good guess, but not it. I did find a letting on it and a number after washing it. It's Water Hose 9202-07. I will try and post a photo of it. It is becoming a mystery hose.

                Thanks so much for helping.

Could you post a picture of where it goes on the car? I don't remember such a hose on the dohc. I am thinking you are talking about the hose that's at the front of the motor, right next to the exhaust manifold? Goes from the metal bypass pipe to the head (what the turbo guys use for the turbo water return). That should be part number BP01-15-261.

well he said its a DX so its got the B8 sohc. im pretty sure that that hose goes from the little metal piece to the intake manifold or somewhere around there.

                        That's the one........

You found it!!!! That's it. You're the Greatest!!!!. Now,I have something to go on, any idea where I might find one? I think I went to the end of the internet last night trying to find anything that looked like it. I had began to think that my car was the only one that had this kind of hose. I know it has never been changed before.

I have learned a lot in the last few days, and I'm sure I have a lot more to learn as other little items need replacing.

The last place we looked today was NAPA parts, and they couldn't help at all,,just told us to use a piece of a fuel line. But I would like to use the right replacement. If I put a plain hose on there, it's going to bend and stop the flow, and that can't be good.

Thanks again for all you do.

well that same hose on my car started leaking a while ago and i just managed a generic piece of straight hose. but i suggest while you are doing hoses to do all of the coolant hoses, that one went the the others are soon to follow. trust me i know from experience. id replace one and then another would start leaking.

                            Up and running.....

Thanks to everyone,,,,we finally have the Mazda up and running. Whew! That's the first time it's been down more than a day. We took your advice and found an almost shaped right fuel line hose and used a spring-set on it to make the two turns that were needed, and it is working so far. We took it yesterday up to a dealership and had them replace all the remaining hoses. Now, I have to figure out the best way to get the antifreeze off of everything. It looks terrible, like nasty snow. Do you have any suggestions on a type of cleaner to use that won't damage anything?

                            Thanks again.
