well its been a ruff few weeks for me money wise so had to sell off one of my 92 egt's, kept my eyes out for a CLEAN rust free shell to do my major project with. found me a 95 LX that runz and drives but has bad valve seals. so made a deal on it 300 bucks and its mine. had to have my buddy pick it up for me since i was busy this weekend but i have dubbed the 95 as "Oscar". Oscars plans are to take my 92 dented rusted beat up POS egt and strip it for ALL its goodness. then it will be transplant time into the LX. main reason i got the LX is i have always hated the 3 piece wing. and i wont have to do any body work. ive done paint jobs and I HATE the work required and the cost. It has ZERO power options and NO AC so less crap to remove in the swap. I already have a color matched front gt bumper and guess ill have to get the Gt rear painted since its caymen green.
So Far my List of remove from the 92 EGT is as follows
- Engine
- Trans w/axles
- wiring harness w/ computer
- rear sub frame and disc brake setup
- front sway bar
- my brand new zx2 struts and spring combo
- front bumper
- rear bumper
- front and rear strut bars
- new exhaust
- possibly the steering rack if its needed not sure if they are the same between the LX and the GT
and any thing else that comes up needed off the egt from the swap
