are you going to use the proportioning valve from the firewall of the LX? Sorry if you mentioned if you are or not already

Yes I used the proportioning valve off my donor car .. The Protege GT ... not sure how much of a difference there is between the disc / drum one I had on the car compared to the Disc/disc set up off the GT .

          Its all in now .

I had great intentions of posting a list of pictures as I did the install of the suspension, and brakes ... but it didnt happen . Life just got to busy !! and its summer time to many things to do and look at wink wink..

Here is the car as it sits now . The suspension and brakes are all in . It rides stiff , but drives like a go-cart ... very little too no body roll .

I still need to install the front sway bar after I get it out of the donor GT . This will happen in a few weeks after I pull the BP motor and tranny etc.

I have my two hole GTX/ interplay bumper to install . Can't wait to see it on the car . It will make it look so different than all the other standard 323's running around here in Vancouver .

One big job over with and onto the next .

Its adjusted 2 turns down on the rear springs adjustable sleeves and 5 turns down on the front sleeves . I think I am going to drop the front more , maybe one or two turns.

No more than than .. its sits low enough ...

Ok... its been way to long since I posted an update on the cars progress.. Basically the car is been put away for the winter and I am planing alot of work in the spring . Currently I have been compliling parts bit by bit .

Got a few more suspension componets , GT front sway bar and Super Pro Poly bushing for it . Jim at JMP motor sports made me up a 4 point front end tie bar set up and a matching rear tie bar. And just this week I scored a Factory GTR Front strut Bar . All are powder coated the same sliver as my rear sway bar .

When I was actually driving it just before putting it away for the winter I had the rear calipers fail ... yes both of the remanufactured units I painted up and installed started to leak everywhere!!!!! I was not a happy camper !!!

The parts place I got them from admited to me they where having issues with the supplier of brake parts . So I was able to get replacements from them " Duh " . But this time they are brand new units ... no remanufactured crap. They are all nice and gold and shiny ..lol

And this weekend finally got around to tearing down the BP motor ... power washed the motor down ... and tore into it to see what the internals looked like after 260,000 kms. The top end looks ok ( cams ) but not to sure about the valves and pistons. Lots of heavy carbon build up . The cylinder walls look really good .

I am hoping to just to get away with re-ring the motor and do the bottom end with new bearings ect. A full rebuilt stock motor.

Something factory " new " and reliable . Maybe in the future I can dump a crap load of money into the motor , but my focus is to get all the suspension dialed in to race it on the track then play with the drve train... daily driver .. weekend warrior car.

Here are a few pics of the engine ( in pieces )

Well its been a few months and haven't gotten alot done . Other than stock pile parts for the engine build .

I got all the head and block machined, stock pistons where OK so a good cleaning and just a new set of piston rings will be needed. Had to have the main and rod bearings resurfaced too .25mm .

I now have all the parts to start the rebuild with out any reason to start then stop to wait for parts . So Its going to start in April and the goal is to have all the engine / tranny all re-painted and built up to go in in May .

The only hiccup I found yesterday was the tranny !!!! some previous owner / mechanic much had to really beat on the tranny case to pry the axle out of the diff ( drivers side ) . You ask why and whats the problem ???

Well the case on that side is all cracked with fine spider cracks ... wasnt to happy to see this . Also found the serial code stamping # 89FSA . I now think this is not a G series tranny like I read the Canadain model GT proteges where to have in them. But with the " F " being in the code I assume its a " F " not a " G " series.

                              Anyone can confirm this ?

Anyways seeing that the case is that way... I have been able to find a KiA tranny to use instead . Stronger and lower mileage on it too .

I will post the spider cracks in the case for all to see soon ...

I have been busy on the new 93 Protege GT daily driver , but its almost done so I can take the 323 off the road to do the swap over ...

But before I do ... I went ahead and did the exhaust 2.25 with a magnaflow muffler .

What do you think ???? I am planning on painting the muffler body black and leaving a inch or two of the tip still polished .

                                Here are two pics
