    Bpt323's FE3 comment thread

Why won't you put a MZR intead of wasting your time with this old FE3? A new generation better engine with direct injection, same displacement as this thing. Funny, there is a complete MZR for sale locally with 8K km for 400$, just the pan is cracked.

    Anyone needs one?

OBD1 or OBD2, doesn't make a difference if you run a standalone, what will have to be done anyways. And for the throttle body, just use an older style one with a cable, pretty sure something will fit straight on to that thing.

If I had a garage, I would have done it, and used the Mazdaspeed 6 AWD tranny, lol.

323 driver, If you can compile a list of MAZDA motor mounts & provide a FWD tranny capable to support in excess of 400 ft lbs, thats a straight bolt on to the MZR engine & proove to me that there is enough clearance to fit it into a BG chassis, then i would love to put one in.
Don't get me wrong. im a MZR fan, but to control it, even with a stand alone requires a significant amount. mazda has been working to perfect the petrol direct injection engine for well over a decade. the technology isn't that simple.
Beyond that, its a 600hp capable bottom end in the FE3, what more could i ask for? as is a FWD car like mine will never get enough traction BPt or otherwise. its all just to make it possible. I daily drive my car & will always continue to do so. the BP is truely jsut too small to provide the grunt i need.

Jon, if its put together by then (i sure hope so) we'll be able to set something up i can't garuntee i'll have the $ to boost it by then but again, we'll see.

the reason the miata guy needed different rods was because he built it into a stroker.
