    Better than steelies

    If anyone followed this thread:

You knew I was looking for wheels. I have '93 Protege GT wheels, but they came with two winters on them so I can't use them right now. I don't want to use my GT wheels in the winter as they are in good shape and are rare wheels here. While I found a set of Miata wheels matching my GT's in size to put winters on, I was having trouble finding two or a full set of 185/65/R14 all season or winter tires on Kijiji in my area. I wanted to run a full set of all seasons on my GT's and winters on the Miatas.

I went junkyarding in London last week - ever have those moments in u-pick it yards where instead of looking for the item the item finds you? That happened to me - right place, right time, fresh arrival. I was looking for these and never thought I'd find them. They were from a 1990 Toyota Corolla 25th Anniversary Edition (Canada only). Loaded. These special editions came with fogs from the factory, and the only trim where you could get a power sunroof and rear spoiler. Two tone paint, pinstripping, its supposed to have fender badges but was painted, badges in the seats. Missing the floormats. And some if not most came with these wheels. They were also on the SR5 two door Corollas too. Same size as my steelies. 13x5, 4x100, 54.1mm hub bore. In decent shape for 20 years old, they cleaned up well after being caked in grease and brake dust. I found center caps for them at another yard. While the tires they came with were almost new they were a crap brand, so I swapped them with some Toyos I had on steelies from a 1990 Corolla I bought and trashed (jumps, derby, etc). Here are some pics I took today.

Edit: Sigh, the pics size limit on this forum is too small for jpegs, imo. I'll edit the pics and post them tommorrow. Edit: Pics up!

Some people at my work don't think they suit the car; I think they look good on a boxy first gen. Pictured below is the donor.

This is my BP. There are many like it but this one is mine. My BP is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life. Without me, my BP is useless. Without my BP I am useless. I must drive my BP true. I must drive straighter than my enemy, who is trying to beat me. I must beat him before he beats me.

Those wheels look similar to the infini BBS's. I think they fit well.

Thank you. I like how they look too. I found three center caps for them at another yard (factory Toyota but not branded with a logo). I still need more as some of them fit loosely but I haven't lost any yet. Pic taken with fresh paint on the rear doors and rear panels (up to the pinstripe) to get rid of some early devloping rust, and got rid of the small hole in my rocker on this side. 15 years old in Canada, currently cancer free. Only 130kms/81miles on the clock.

^Are you kidding me? Hahaha, I was using it to remote host pictures for Toronto Protege Club since they don't offer "attaching pics" anymore. And I'm too lazy to make a Photobucket/Imageshack account.

                    Small world. Leik mah bodywerk?
