    my protege build.

My long awaited engine and disk swap for the dx is underway!

I pulled a 110k engine that I got for 100 bucks, Im going to reseal it, new headgasket, arp studs, and some boost. Gonna try for 220 or better whp with a vj11/vf10 turbo, gtr ecu and 460s. This will be my first turbo build so we’ll see how it goes. I have 2 other blocks, and some b6t rods for the next go around.

    Donor.
Didn’t have a hoist, so I took the head off first, then came back for the block and trans.

GTR injectors are 460CC, you'll need the resistor pack to make them work though

Yeah, its one of those Mazda mysteries. They never released the flow rate of the injectors, but we know they can support 320HP at a near max duty cycle. I saw an online ad for cleaned and flowed GTR injectors rated for 460CC the other day.

Yes I know he isn't running GTR injectors, but he wants 460CC injectors and he already has the GTR ECU, might as well use GTR injectors as well.

jack-the pro with the gtx bumper and grille is the dx, green one is my lx, and the other red car is parts.

                chris-thanks for the heads up!

i have in my possession rx7 high imp. 460s, the 2010s...plug and play as far as my research goes. The insulators dont fit in the bp head tho, at least they dont for me, but they are pretty old and hard. Injectors wil be sent out for cleaning with bp injector insulators and orings replacing the old.

more updates on the way..keep the comments coming please

Why the F does it matter if he has GTR injectors or not if they flow the same rate? Its not like he's looking for 320 hp so it doesn't matter.

Calm down. Nowhere in his posts or pictures does it mention he already had injectors in his possession. I was making a suggestion on the basis that he was still researching suitable injectors to use.

Suspension looks nice BTW. What pistons are you using?

Thank you all for the positive comments!

ill be using the stock pistons and rods in this build. The b6t rods will go in another bp at a different time. Im gonna see how far i can push this stock bottom since it was so cheap and has decent miles.

Pulled the nasty rear subframe from the dx. I got some pics of the new hotness installed, but it was dark by then and the pics came out crappy .ill take more tomorrow when i button it up..

FYI my GTR injectors tested out at 470cc the standard 43.5 psi

the GTX and GTR fuel systems ran a slightly lower pressure than standard, which is why mazda rated them at 440cc.
