as much as i hate to say it. you might be better off getting the piston machined a bit to clear the plugs.
getting a shorter reach plug would help too.
OR... you could machine out the current spark plug threading. & run a new threaded insert to slightly shift the plugs up a hair(enough that they won't hit at 8000+rpm)

    option A is safer

I went with the index kit from Summit. Seems to work so far. From what Ive been told a lot of the small block Chevy and Ford guys do it on high comp setups. with no problems.

I'll just leave this here... So happy to finally hear it!

What surprised me more than anything is that this is on a KL31/JE50! Fully built motor lol

Thats what I picked up. Basically just washers that can handle the heat and are the correct size for the plug tubes and plugs. I ran one .064 inch washer on every plug. Cleared the piston and still tightens up like normal. Saved me so much trouble.

The plug had a .750 reach before, so I guess that minus the .064 and that is the new depth.

Just a word of advice from experience:

I know how bad you want to start it up and rev it and feel that its running, but its best to leave that until the first test drive when you can actually put it through its paces and break the rings in. I would also advise you to run that thing on the stock setup if possible for the break in, and then switch to Megasquirt and go through tuning.

Ring seating takes place right away, so the longer its run idling or no load revving your window of opportunity gets smaller until you have nothing left.

Cant wait to see this thing run though

I agree, and I made that mistake last build by babying it for almost 300 miles. It still was 210 across the board, but I feel it would have been more had I gave it hell.

It was not ran long tonight. 2-3 minutes tops. Only reason I didnt drive it tonight was because the clutch was not bled yet (is now), and no cooling system. I don't see it handling load very well on the stock ecu with the cams and compression, but I'm going to give it a shot.

Got the exhaust back tonight. My buddy saved it from the destruction that I was about to do on it. lol I'm pretty happy with it for how much I have in it. He had to put some extra material on in some joints to cover up my mistakes.

I think that awkward bend for the rear bank would hurt performance more then un-equal length pipes

Just a thought, my festiva has unequal length pipes

I honestly attempted to keep the loop for the sound. I don't like the unequal sound. So I went for best of both worlds with bigger diameter but hopefully still having the distinct pitch of equal length. I'm bolting it on tomorrow so I'll find out then. The start up vid up there was the primaries dumping separately.

After the "exhaust" was bolted up

A little late on the update but oh well. Got up to the tuner to see how it did on stock mani and of course my ms1v3 had other plans. So that was a wasted trip and $300 in the trash can.

I went to diyautotune the same week and picked up this guy

Love the simplicity of it. Very happy so far. I just need to learn how to use it lol.

The ITB's are on. Injectors wired, and TPS is reading like it should. So close but I'm having a firing issue with the injectors. I think only the rear bank is firing so I might have to pull my harness back apart and see what's up there, either that or some settings need to be changed in MS for the switch to top feed injectors. Anyone who has had a similar problem on MS please feel free to help me out. lol

Excuse the messy bay. Will get a cleaned up once I get everything sorted out.

Only clear corners I can find are the ones that come with those diamond cut black housing headlights on ebay. Unless I haven't looked hard enough lol

I'm using speed density, but I just looked through the MegaManual and it says Alpha-N is good for engines with cams that have longer duration and bigger overlap. Hmm might be part of my problem. Still have a lot to learn lol.

                                DeeAOne's BF KLDE Swap.

Contact TTter on here, he set me up with brand new corners and headlights.... But you gotta get the matching headlights too since the JDM corners are wider the stock, which also got brand new from TTter

                                Before

                                After

You can see the difference in the size of the corner lights by where they line up with the body line of the fender

The new headlights use H4 bulbs and overall the new headlights are wayyy brighter then my old crappy headlights, so all around it was a great buy getting the entire set
