    klze swap question

so i read the mx3v6 air flow meter works best with the KL31 ecu.

is there a model number i should look for on the meter or just get any meter off a mx3v6?

we stick to using the american spec probe/mx6 vaf, on the mx3 ecu's. tim did some dyno'ing comparing them a few years back. and that was the best power band he could find that made the best hp. (keep in mind he is currently running a 13.8 with just a kl swap, and basic bolt ons with a full leather int, and stereo even in his mx3 SE on this combo. i believe he was also the 1st v6 mx3 into the 12's back in the late 90's with his old black SE with some go fast juice.

The Cliffs note differance on KLZE manifolds:
All straight neck KLZE's have the "good" cams. Only some curved necks have the "good" cams. Often people buy the straight neck engine and then swap the manifold. The straight manifold is worth some $$$ when you go to sell it too. (likely re-coup the $50-$100) Both KLZE's make about 200HP, the straight neck with that always comes with the "good" cams has a more favorable torque curve. I believe in reality you could not lose either way and the "real" difference would be hard to measure. Also a popular thing to do when KLZE swapin' is to re-chip the ECU with a Probeinator Chip.

The straight neck has a higher value because more people want it.

i read that the combo of the mx3 ecu and the american probe/mx6 vaf would make that car run real rich. do you have a link of his dyno or thread. am really interested in seeing this.

like i said, he's on mx3.com along with probetalk and mx6.com. his screen name is timsmx3. if you email him, im sure he wont have a problem sharing the dyno.

and considering his winter car/daily driver is a 13.8, which is quite a bit faster then most basic KL swapped cars, thats proof enough that the combo def works, and works very well. specially since thats not even his project mx3. lol

stock DE pulled from a 94pgt. with a milly manifold. and obviously headers and full exhaust. and a intake that locates his intake in his fender.

this is his winter/ daily mx3 that did the 13.8

this is his project mx3 that ran the 12 sec 1/4. but this car hasnt ran since about 03 when he grenaded his trans at the track.
