Yeah, I had the O2 sensor bung welded shut to help prevent it from cracking there in the future. That means I had to find another place to install the new sensor. I had a bung added to the top of the down pipe. Just have to add more wire to make it reach now that it is farther away.

Thanks. Yeah, I'm excited. Can't wait to get it up and running. Hopefully within the next few days. Here's a pic of the latest. I'm almost there. Still have to install the new O2 sensor and run the wire, add the air/fuel ratio gauge including swapping out the dual gauge pillar pod with the triple gauge pillar pod I just bought, run new boost hose to the BOV, wastegate and manual boost controller, change the oil, put the antifreeze back in, paint and install the new "H" bracket that structureboy helped me weld back together (thanks structureboy!!!), and hook up the battery. Then, I'll try turning the key! LOL

It'll take me a few runs to reconfigure the manual boost controller since I don't know where it should be with the hybrid turbo now installed. I'll get it worked out. Can't wait!!!!

Thanks! I'm hoping to finish today after work.

The lip is off of an early-mid 90's 626. It's 2-piece (joins in the middle).

I like your lip! Tell me again what car it's from!

It lives! I've been driving it for about a week now trying to adjust and fine-tune things here and there. Still working on getting the boost to where I want it. I'm planning on setting it on a max of around 15 lbs. of boost. I get great throttle response at that amount and I don't think it's too hard on the car (since I don't get into it that often or for very long). With the modified ECU, I can run 18 lbs safely (I've been told).

I hooked up an inexpensive air/fuel ratio gauge and unfortunately it's a narrow-band. It's fine though. Tells me what I need to know even though it's too sensitive to give me a constant, accurate reading of where my ratio is really at. Maybe someday I'll switch but have you seen the cost of a wide-band lately? sheeeesh....

I love the customized "H" brace I installed under the engine. I can really tell a difference in how "tight" the car feels now. Everytime I've added a brace of some sort, it's gotten better and better. I'm not sure I can add anymore. LOL. The only problem is is that I'm so low to the ground I hit very easily. Oh well... small price to pay for the pleasure of having the best handling car I've ever owned.

The exhaust manifold paint that I used (red) is slowly turning blackish-brown. I'm a little disappointed that it didn't hold up better. Oh well. can't wait to get my custom exhaust heat shield on. BLING!

Adjusted the clutch. Checked tire pressures. Oh yeah.......

I have like 2.5 inches of clearance.... I have to be really careful where I drive. However, the car is super solid/rigid. Just an absolute pleasure to drive. No body roll whatsoever. Be aware that while this is one of the braces off of ebay, it did not fit as described. I had to do major modification including using an angle grinder to cut off mounting tabs, cut of almost an inch off of each side of the rear round tubing just to get close to the correct length, re-weld the tabs on, use four washers on each side before mounting to get clearance under my catalytic converter and repaint and so on. If I had known it was going to be such a bitch to make it fit right, I would have never had bought it. When I first emailed the seller back, his first question was whether or not my car was in an accident. He claims that they made the "H" brace on a template so it should be right. Ha... I think they sent me the wrong one (since they make one for the GT and another for the GTX. I will never buy from him again unless he becomes a better seller. I'm really happy with the results in terms of improvement of drive-ability and handling, but super disappointed in the transaction an dhow he handled it.

Yes, it's the turbine tech brace. Two people whose cars it didn't fit on? I think we ought to complain. I already sent him one email. Maybe an admin from this site ought to say something to him to let him know that the word is going around about how his stuff isn't up to snuff.....

Fortunately, I was able to make mine fit after major changes like I mentioned.

I'm planning on heading down to Portland two weekends from now if you want to get together Matt. I'll try to stop in and see Kyle too.

You might be able to make it fit if you go get two longer bolts for where the rear part of the brace is supposed to bolt on (if you're hitting the exhaust back there). I got bolts that were 1/2" longer plus 4 washers for each side as spacers. That dropped the brace far enough down so that it missed my catalytic converter. The longer bolts gave me comfort that I still had enough threading to hold it securely even though I added the washers and the brace. Good luck.

It was only meant for the GTX i think.. I'm pretty sure the GT underbrace would have to be different.

He had two types up for auction. One said "only for GTX" and the other said "NOT for GTX" (for the SE, LX and GT). I was thinking that maybe they sent me the wrong one, but they didn't even offer to bother to check. Like I said, he first questioned my car..... It's always somebody else's fault.....
