    rallycross GTX

    Hi guys!

I just want to show what i've done over the years with my GTX!

So I started with this stock and rusted gtx in 2005

but the rust was a concern since I live in Québec and salty roads..

I stripped it down to see the damages...

didin't looked too bad... but it only looked....

    I got a few surprises...

so the rockers were toasted, floor, rear wheel arches, one frame rail and **** load of other small things ... so it pretty looked like that one all repaired, seamwelded and with an autopower roll cage...

then painted it for the first time...

after that... once fully put together... I blew the engine.... the wastegate jamed and boosted 25 psi.... so 3 pistons cracked and one completely desintegrated...

as the engine was removed, I had the opportunity to seam weld the engine bay too

    new engine:

I also did the front and rear galant conversion.... with bigger master cylinder and a ajustable proportionning valve

    then painted it again...

    a nice suspension

a skid plate with front reinforcement and custom attach point

    and then rally it!

let me know what you think!!!

    Greg

nice build! great to see you come w/ a torn up shell to this. With the suspension and cage, do you have further plans beyond RallyX?

Why wouldn't you do a CARS cage the first time? Or do you just need to add to your current cage? It seems like it would have been less money to just do it once. Very nice job on the restoration. Almost makes me want to fix my white shell.

cause it's an autopower roll cage kit.... it's bolt-on.... I can remove it if I want...

it took me 8 months... while working between 2 and 5 days a week after the job... and some week ends.... I didn't had a life! haha

but I didn't put all the pictures of what i've done... would have been a ****ing long thread hehe

Stock it shouldn't be a problem really. I did 3-4k clutch dumps (with slipping) on stock power for a long time. Once you hit 200ish hp you should really baby the thing though.

I live my life a quarter pounder at a time. And for those 500 calories or more, I'm free. I need FRIES! Two of them. The big ones. Oh, and I need them tonight. You're lucky the double shot of BBQ sauce didn't blow the seam on your nugget box. There she is, 2 pounds of pure beef. My dad ate it in 9.0 seconds flat. Check it out, it's like this. If I lose, winner takes my happy meal. But if I win, I take the burger and the toy. To some people, that's more important.
