I've got a '99 Protege, stock, 1.6 liter, 5 spd, 190k. Ran great until about a mile from home when it immediately started missing on just one cylinder. I've changed plugs (no change), and I'm going to replace the wires, but if that doesn't work, I'm thinking it would be one of the coils. There is power TO the coils. And yes, the CEL came on. My question is...if one of the coils were to fail, wouldn't two cylinders be affected? Thanks guys.
