Hopefully i can help to change this and maybe FE swap my 4 door GT. Can't find a solid FE swap thread with detail on mx6.com. If the engines that similar, can't you just reuse your harness and use an overseas 626 GT FE ECU?

you can hack it to work. but thats if you want it to stay n/a. most of us that go throught hte work to swap, are doing it to boost the crap out of it. and you wouldnt really want to boost it on the stock ecu

But isnt the FE GT overseas turbo? In that case does everyone with an FE swap have to run standalone?

even the GT's everywhere else is a f2t. they never made a factory turbo fe3. well, other then the one they supplied to there sponsored rally team at the time. and that didnt even have a stock ecu of any kind.

that is kinda odd since the FE3 can handle massive amounts of boost...

not really. every F series motor does. sohc or dohc. keep in mind the F series block was used as the mazda RF and R2 diesel! not many gasoline blocks can just be converted to a diesel with such little work. says alot about the strength of the motor.

Not to start a web ping/pong war, but Isnt it the FE3 the combo that is been used in PR?

If I remember well, I think there are two or three of those engines in 323 chassis on the 9/10 second 1/4 mile times.
