My car is handling weird whenever i take my foot off the gas, the car starts to wobble left to right. It wobbles when driving fast and when i press the throttle it stops wobbling. It feels like when you are sitting on a chair and someone is pushing & pulling the chair with you on the chair. What would be the cause of this?

Something important is loose. Park the car till you find it. Lower control arm is my first guess, followed by a broken strut mount or even a busted strut tower. Whatever it is it's in the the front end, since it's affected by power applied.'90 AWD Protege, full GTR drivetrain swap, ~320 whp daily driver, RIP, and

Does it do it in the straights or only while cornering on long sweeping corners?I live my life a quarter pounder at a time. And for those 500 calories or more, I'm free. I need FRIES! Two of them. The big ones. Oh, and I need them tonight. You're lucky the double shot of BBQ sauce didn't blow the seam on your nugget box. There she is, 2 pounds of pure beef. My dad ate it in 9.0 seconds flat. Check it out, it's like this. If I lose, winner takes my happy meal. But if I win, I take the burger and the toy. To some people, that's more important.

This is crazy cause my car just started doing this same thing, but the wobble is not all the time, and it has a noticeable pull when on light throttle accel, and on deccel it goes the opposite direction. Only happens when going straight. I have checked my balljoints and tie rod ends many times but I cant find anything. Coilovers appear fine and alignment seems fine, but I have not checked the LCA bushings, but I dont think it would be it since mine were just replaced about 6 months ago with ES ones.92 Mazda MX3 GS> For sale, $1750 OBO

in order of expense:
tie rod ends
tie rods
ball joints
LCA bushings
steering rack mount bushings
strut mounts
struts.
wheel bearings.
it's already been said, check'em all!!!
sounds like when power's applied, things are pushed in an even direction. when power is let off, the toe is changing on both sides, at different rates, which is what's making the car want to steer around. Especially check the tie rods/ends and the LCA bushings, as they're the most directly related to toe. then the ball joints and strut mounts/struts.
good luck!!!!

The car is park at the moment until i find out what is wrong. The front end has most of these recently installed
Tie rod ends - replaced 8 months ago, but the car was parked most of the time until 2 months ago
Ball joints - replaced 3 weeks ago
LCA bushings - replaced with Pedders bushings
Steering rack mount bushings - needs replacing
Strut mounts - Ok, they were replaced 1 month ago
Struts - New with lowering springs
Wheel bearings - New
It only does this in the straights. I went to the alignment stand and done a 4 wheel inspection & alignment 1 week before this started happening and the only fault they had found that the ball joints need replacing & the camber for the left front & rear wheel is out by -2 degrees. I replaced them same time. It is also felt slightly @ speeds under 50km. From all of your input I suspect these to b the culprits. A clicking c.v. joint, tie rod ends since they were in active for so long, LCA reach a point that when i try tighten them from the front the metal starts to get closer unto the front of the lca and this is with a spanner & skinny hands...lol so i think the metal peice has gotten soft for that to be happening so easily. Could also be the cause of this?Last edited by mazkam; 01-13-2010, 08:20 AM.

Be sure to check your axles. If you have a CV joint that is binding up, it will pull to one direction under acceleration, and vice versus on deceleration.Create your own VB Gallery here.

I've decided that my car is a girl, she's picky as hell, won't listen to me, always wants to fight me, and when i give her presents it's never good enough and she always wants more.

I got everthing that u all suggested checked n double checked. Nothing was loose or missing. The car does not pull from left to right but actually rocks left to right. While it is rocking there is no unusual movement in the steering to indicate that something is wrong with the front end. It is a scary feeling driving fast n then ease up off the throttle n feel the car starting to rock from left to right as if people are outside rocking the car. If the rackend are worn out or if the lateral link bushings are worn out would that cause the rocking movement of the car? This mainly occurs @ highway speeds and once in a while crusingLast edited by mazkam; 03-10-2010, 11:49 AM.
