US129 between NC and TN. Few miles outside of Knoxvegas, TN.

318 hairpin turns in 11 miles. (They say "curves." These aren't "curves.") If your butthole isn't puckering, it should be.

The Skyway is a much longer, faster, high speed sweeper that climbs up into the Smokey Mountains. About 40 miles long, and an elevation change of about 5,000 feet.

And there's the Devil's Triangle, that i STILL haven't had a chance to run, but i need to.

The middle of summer is the worst time to go- you'll be fighting with a few hundred bikes. Also, state troopers will sit on either side and record your tag in the log book. If you make it across to quickly, you'll be ticked; I've only seen them in the peak season. I'd suggest early May or even late July to August.

If anyone wanted to come to my place and hang out, that's cool; but, I don't have room to let anyone stay. However, we have all kinds of gravel to park on and a few acres suitable for a bonfire.

If it's going to be august, shoot for as late as possible. May 7th would probably be a better choice, traffic wise, but i don't think i'll be able to make that date. I'm racing the Celica in Winged Warrior that date.

If you don't need a ballin' suite for a hotel, there's plenty of places in Knoxvegas that are really affordable. I usually stay at the La Quinta, and the last few years it's been about $60 a night, i know if you book in advance, you can usually get down to $40-$50.

My vote for layout, and only because i've been to a few meets out there, is that Friday should be the day to travel and meet up, meet everyone, and go to dinner, and maybe find some trouble to get into afterwards. If some people want to make a SEDATE nighttime Dragon run to get an idea of what they're getting into, that may be a good idea. Reliable cars on the night run, ONLY.

Saturday, meet up for breakfast, then hit the road. Last minute informal "tech inspection," everyone fill up on gas, then hit the Dragon. Go up, go down, go up again, then head to the Skyway. Decide what else to do from there. At this point, at least half of us will be EXTREMELY physically tired. Driving these roads is hard work. Power steering or not. Also a great chance of at least one breakdown, depending on how hard everyone is going to push.

                          Saturday night shenanigans.

Sunday morning, food, then either leave or hit the dragon again. :D

^same here, but that is a hell of a drive, and I have to take the car to the outer banks in October. That will be my long distance trip with the car.
