BP torque specs

    yea they're Torque To Yield bolts, and should always be replaced after using. I'd let the car sit there for another 2 weeks til I puchased new head bolts, rather than installing used ones and testing my luck (this is what I would do, not saying you have to)

    They can be almost at their elastic limit as they are now, then add some light debris/friction in the block threads which will add resistance to you torquing them down, resulting in using more force, which can lead to stretching bolts, breaking bolts, and getting inaccurate torque numbers.

    Studs are good since you clean the block threads out real well once, then be done with it. Don't have to worry about debris in the threads, and if you have debris on the studs, you can EASILY clean them off.

    I could be ranting here, but when it comes to TTY bolts, I don't joke around too much

        If you are running boost, I would say yeah change 'em out.

          what are the tq specs for the bolts holding the MBSP onto the BPs? they were not on very tight.. I cant seem to find them so im going to go by feel and hope for the best..

            I would also like to know the torque specs for the main bearing support plate. I'm putting one onto an Escort GT BP. Thanks

                Any torque spec sheet for drag spec engine? This is for the oem reinstall standard engine i guess.
