Okay so here's what I learned today. The P5 calipers can be modified to work with your existing GTR rotors using 6mm spacing disks, bolts that fit the caliper and 2 sleeves (ID 12mm OD 14mm) around the bolts in the stock GTR spindle bracket. The P5 rotor won't work on the stock bracket, it's too small and the pads stick out the top of it. If you're feeling money, you can go and get yourself a mazda6 rotor. I lined it up, but I haven't tested it - looks like it will clear the P5 caliper and be much more readily available than another GTR one. Plus the setup will clear your sweet stock enkei rims.

*edit - Forgot to mention, the mazda6 and P5 caliper brackets both use the same bolt pitch. The reason I was screwed up was because the P5 caliper I got had messy threads.
*edit 2 - the bolt pitch in question is a M12 (1.25) and the bolt itself needs to be 40mm long to get decent thread depth in the caliper. You'll also need 12mm lockwashers and I also put anti seize in the spindle bracket so the sleeve won't rust itself in there.

Having a similar problem in Australia trying to find calipers that fit.
AP Racing did make some for the GTR, but I can find no pictures (motorsport wise) of any of the setups.
Any emails I send off to people who are selling cars in Europe is ignored.

I have replaced all the seals in the front GTR Calipers and purchased new pistons.
Local brake shop sells seal kit.
New pistons are slightly shallower than the GTR, but the same dimensions. To remove the piston, you can remove the brake line and press the piston from the rear.
As you push in, be sure to adjust the piston straight as it will want to come out on a slight angle.

Rear caliper seal upgrade is a little more complicated.

I will put some pictures up on my build site soon

      OK, in regards brakes.

Not sure if this has been posted previously.

These numbers are taken from the Mazda Homologation papers.

Anyone done the struts in their GTR? I'm looking to replace all the corners cheaply first before moving to coilovers later. My research so far indicates 92 626 struts for the front and GTX for the back. Anyone confirm this? And do all GTX years have the same rear struts? I tried searching and didn't find much on CP. I have a link to another forum I sifted through but I hesitate to post a link to it here

ya know, it just doesn't seem reasonable that there isn't 4piston setup that bolts to a gtr hub. I'm sure it's out there and whoever finds it gets a cookie.

So nobody's done suspension mods/replaced their stock struts? I want to afford a house someday and 3k on coilovers isn't really in the budget Maybe they can be re-built?

The weather is improving (FINALLY) so I'll be talking to the parts guy this week. Do you guys think I'll need new springs as well or should I be able to re-use the ones on the car?

So for anyone who's interested the front shocks from a 2002 P5 fit with spacers, and any shocks that fit the rear of a GTX will fit the back of the GTR.

Anyone ever change the front diff shaft seals? Are they the same size as a regular 323? Or will I have to get GTX ones? Help please

Go to the parts counter and order up front diff seals for a '90-91 1.8 twincam protege 4wd. easypeasy, they're in both my cars.
Yeah I've done struts on these, but they were rally specific and not much use to you...street car came to me with stock gtr hubs struts uprights etc bolted right in, so all that interchanges with bgt protege, fwiw.

they don't centre the same. So I got the strut all lined up then went and turned the wheel and all you could hear was the spring grinding against the wheel-well. Old burned strut is back in and I guess i have a new solution to look for. Anyone have any ideas? I want as near a direct replacement as possible, and I'm not able to afford fancy coilovers.

best bet would be an insert, Koni makes them for the BG chassis.

I didn't see anything on Konis website about coilovers for the bg, and either way I'm not really looking to change the ride height. Trying to keep the stock look you see.
