Which set of pistons would you recommend Weisco, CP & JE pistons

I am looking into purchasing a set of pistons for my bpt engine. These are the brand that have caught my interest Weisco pistons, CP pistons & JE pistons. What i have seen so far is that the Weisco pistons are available in 8.5 - 8.8:1 compression ration, while the CP pistons & JE pistons are available in 9.0:1 compression. I need some advise as to which set of pistons to choose.

I like wiseco because of their coating and they are usually cheaper

weiscos have been prove time and time again in bp/b6 builds, not to say the other componies dont make a good piston but it seems as most people are running the weiscos and getting good results, dont forget supertechs but i havent ready any good about those, if you plan on running a 99 head i hear you may have to use the custom wiescos from FLyin miata. thats what im leaning towards getting

just get some wiseco 9-1 pistons and you will be good you mite have to bore out your short block to get the new pistons to fit but you will like them alot now as for rods just get a set of some h-beam rods their prety cheap and i hear good things about them

Has anyone had any issues with the Wiseco's hitting the oil squirters? Do they have the cutouts on the skirts?

Hmmm i heard of these issues but i am not certain if they do or do not

i know that their was a set being made that had the cut outs on the skirts of the pistons for the oil squirters but i believe those were the JE pistons

but i believe if you use the search button you will find what you are looking for as this topic has been talked about before hope this helpe you some

                  Supertech forged pistons

                  Once again check Miataturbo.net

Check out Supertech, I bought the 9@1 84mm with H-tuned rods, the whole deal was around 750 shipped, maybe a few dollars off, bought it about 3-4 months ago.

www.nolimitmotorsports.com, tell them you saw the special add on miataturbo or simply visit Supertech website for info.

Just make sure that when you get them to grab some emery cloth and WD40 to smooth out all the rough edges on the valve pockets.

+1 on the wiseco's Flyinmiata sells, as they are specific for this engine. You can specify from at least a couple different CR's.
'90 AWD Protege, full GTR drivetrain swap, ~320 whp daily driver, RIP, and
'90 AWD Protege, yet another GTR swap, Open class rallycar with a Toyota GT4 gearbox swap, thus crossing the line between hobby and mental illness. And a Brabus E55 K8, removing all doubt.

I saw this on flyinmiata about the Weisco turbo pistons. "We also designed them to run without the factory oil squirters, which gives higher oil pressure, lower oil consumption and higher power levels due to a drop in pumping losses".

I musta missed that. I would no sooner drop the oil squirters than I would bypass the oil cooler. That makes no sense to me, unless they feel those pistons are so tough that they don't need the additional cooling. So maybe they know their metallurgy better'n I do!

Those guys *know* boosted BP's. I kinda figure if they don't think those pistons need squirters, they prolly don't. The Wiseco's in the rallycar came from a screamin deal elsewhere and while specific to a bpt, they aren't the same as the ones they make for FM. Street car, when the time comes, is gonna get these though...
