    Zoom Zoom roll over crunch

I rolled my protege during while enduro racing it yesterday......

    Here's a video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fWuYcJ9uYik

Then it got hit from the rear during the race, as the car had to be left on the track because of the rules. (it makes obstacles for drivers)

    And here is the damage:

"There's a hierarchy of insanity in motor sports. Normal people think all racers are crazy. Folks who race sedans think people in open-wheel cars are nuts. People who race cars of any kind think motorcycle racers are absolutely off theirs meds. But there's one group that everyone agrees is made up of the most extreme, the most daring, and absolutely craziest people in racing - rally racers."

Yeah, 93 cars on the track! But thats not even close to the record of 135 cars! (that was a few years ago.)

          And I'm 6'5".

I was thinking the same thing. I was just VERY unlucky. But then again, I was VERY lucky nobody hit me while I was rolling. If that would have happened, i might have been hurt badly!

I still have our Toyletta Commoda station wagon that we used for Hornet enduro races. This sorta thing is just a goldern laugh riot. Cheapest motorsport there is, we were in it for the novelty of racing a car and not caring a whit what happens to it, and the joy of simple on track sanctioned hoonage. The trouble was round here anyway, way too many of the other tools out there were taking it seriously! I kinda think maybe some o' them boys' family trees look too much like phone poles, if you get my drift. But it was still sore-ribs-sore-cheeks-from-laughing-too-much fun. Last time we took it out I was in the middle of a nice big 4wheeldrift to get round a tight corner and got (oh yes, deliberately) slammed in the rear qtrpanel, putting me on my roof and then back onto the wheels, the LF of which was not going the same direction as the others anymore. I got it back to the pits, where we cast about looking for a torch to borrow. Finding one, my pal John went under the car and heated up the steering arm till it got soft enough, I held the steering wheel, and someone else grabbed the LF wheel and reefed the damn thing back into place till someone else eyeballing things from the front said "yeah that's pretty good" and we went back out again. OMFG I think I was giggling like a loon the whole time. It's gone racin' twice since then and we ain't done SQUAT to it since that pit stop. Gad I just realized how old that pic is. There's my poor ol' GTX in the background, and at my old house. Damn I'm glad we're not there anymore....

'90 AWD Protege, yet another GTR swap, Open class rallycar with a Toyota GT4 gearbox swap, thus crossing the line between hobby and mental illness. And a Brabus E55 K8, removing all doubt.

Yeah, thats how it was when I started, but now the series is getting pretty competitive. Quite a few 'ringers' out there, like sentra SER's with JDM spec SR20DE motors, 2nd gen escorts lx and ponies with 2.0 SPI swaps, and a focus SVT.
