yea, i had to unbolt it so we could get the flywheel and clutch off lol, it was 2 10mm bolts holding it.

here's some more pics i snapped tonight of my swaggggggg

shift linkage soaking in pb blaster

      pedal assemblies, shifters, misc...

      stuff from today!

      does this look ok? lol

      some dirty tranny pictures

gonna try oven cleaner and boiling water to get all the nasty crap off, then using a scrub brush...doesn't need to shine, just has to be cleaner than it is lol.

          Updates, pics later tonight tho.

You do not have to change the brake pedal assembly, it is the same, the only difference is the arm that has the pedal on it, so i'm going to cut the pedal to the mtx pedal size and slap a boot on it.

Also my 626 has the mtx harness in it already, so the clutch pedal sensors all plug and play , but to fit the clutch pedal in w/o taking the brake pedal assembly out you have to modify it a bit, i'll post pics of where i modified it (still have to test fit it, too dark out).

So far its going well tho, the clutch block off plate was a bit of a pain, but now the clutch pedal should be ready to fit tomorrow i hope!

been busy so no pics yet, but i thought it was a good excuse lol.

been busy customizing more over-sized bronzoil bushings for the shift fork @ the trans, went real well! found a nice long 3/8" bolt (bronzoils are 3/8" ID) with a 1.5" smooth section before the threads, make sure the bushings fit nicely (which they do!) and cut the bolt to length!

also fitted my home made bg short shifter into the mx6 system, took a bit of work, but it should be a great improvement!

pics will probably come tomorrow since i'm dead tonight lol

Well today I'd like to say i accomplished a lot, but if feels otherwise lol.

Had to pull the steering column out, which only took like 5 minutes, no biggy.

Pulled the brake pedal assembly out

Bypassed the neutral safety switch (mine pedal sensor was damaged)

Plugged in the upper clutch pedal sensor (idk what it is, but all the plugs are there so why not lol).

Installed the clutch pedal assembly and clutch master cylinder...god i HATE trying to install the upper nut lol...

Then realized i don't have the clutch pedal to clutch m/c rod!!!! WTF!!! I knew i had it...so i'll have to figure that out...lovely. So now i'm at a dead stop til i find one.

still would be a good core to start a rebuild on depending whats wrong with it. if anything, grab the intake manifold at least. i have one waiting to go on my 626.

another thing not many know is the G4 crank is over 10 pounds lighter then the crank found in the 93-97 KL's. its a great base for a motor build.

                    g4 - gen 4?

and somewhat offtopic; i heard the klzem in the millenia is 2.3L w/ the SC
any difference in internals with it?
i almost got a pgt 96 for cheap, but i'm still looking and the info would be useful when i got a kl powered car for build potential

G4 is the short name for the KLG4. the KL in the 98-02 mazda 626.

the millenia S 2.3 is a totally different motor that is useless for any KL parts and is not even a KL motor. the intake manifold will not bolt up to a KL. the one and only thing we can use off them is there injectors. well, that and the power steering pulley. lol.

and for reference. the KLZE is a 2.5 motor from other countries. it didnt come in any car in the states. the 2.3 SC milly motor was a KJ motor. not a KLZE

ah i see, thanks for the clarification
                        and yeah i knew the klde/ze were 2.5 w/ either 9:1 or 10:1 comp
there's some disinformation about the klzem on wikipedia that contradicts what you just said.. well atleast that's what i read on feoa.net as wiki reference.. lemme investigate..

lol. the guy that started that thread is a local in my town named jeremy. we go to the junkyard alot together.

the main differenceis the 2.5 KL is a 60 degree motor. and the KJ is a 90 degree motor. so that changes alot internally. people do mod the KJ rod's though. but it involves machine work to be used in a KL. but are an upgrade.

swapping the full KJ wouldnt be worth it. they dont make alot of power. there not that reliable. and parts are hard to get for them. when you can buy a KLZE that makes about the same horsepower.

haha ya its an mx6, it wasn't too bad, should have seen how i was working on it before!!

it was stacked on another car, but luckily the bottom car had a shattered sunroof and windshield, so it made things pretty easy to get at lol.

anyways today i'm going back at it, gotta figure out why my key doesn't want to unlock the car anymore first...then the interior goes back together lol
