bg awd trans in a bf gtx?

hey how much work is it to put a bg gtx trans in to a bf gtx? i have some info that you need to change motor mounts, shifter cables, axles and a few other little things... the only thing that i know for sure is that it will bolt to the b6t lol... has anyone done a swap like this? if you have a quick parts list and little explaining of whats needed to be done would be great

Most of the bellhousing bolts match up, but not all. Can't remember which ones. Go to the yahoogroups 323gtx list, Greg D. has done that swap and knows all about it.
'90 AWD Protege, full GTR drivetrain swap, ~320 whp daily driver, RIP, and
'90 AWD Protege, yet another GTR swap, Open class rallycar with a Toyota GT4 gearbox swap, thus crossing the line between hobby and mental illness. And a Brabus E55 K8, removing all doubt.

I've read his build on the yahoo forum and I think he said all the big bolts line up, starter bolts line up, it's just a few of the oil pan bolts that don't line up. You will need to use bg front motor mount bracket and mount, bg awd upper motor mount with a custom mounting bracket. Then bolt your BF rear mount and bracket in place of the bg one.

Use hybrid axles, bg awd shifter cables, stock speedo cable with bg speed sensor and that's pretty much it.

i dont have a write up or link... i did all of this before i knew other people did it too, i kinda did it as a last resort...
im new to this site and dont know my way around yet, but i will be more than willing to help you out with whatever i can
the axles are easy, you have them made... bg inner splines, and bf outer splines... i personally sent 4 axles to corksport and they sent me 2 hybrids back...
shift cables werent hard either, i used bg ones, and put the entire bg shifter assembly in the bf car. if i remember right, the rear 2 holes lined up and i just bolted it down, and then made new holes in the front to bolt that down

half shafts will be different because the splines on the trannys are different. as for escort axles im sure they are the same as the bg protege's but not sure on that as well
i kinda did my swap as a last resort because the b6t blew up and i couldnt find another one

Here's a thread I started about making the custom axles. I have all the parts to do it but I haven't started the swap yet

Pls forgive me as I am new to the GTX family and all the engine and body codes. I have an 88 GTX that I am ice racing. My 2nd gear synchro is gone. I have found a tranny for sale. It is listed as a 92 protege 323 GTX jdm 4wd gear box? If I am correct, that would be a bg swap into a bf? and this tranny should fit my car? correct?
                        Thanks for your help.

I don't think 92 pros had an awd option but maybe it's a leftover 91, in anyt case they came with the same BG awd trans as the '88 GTX so it's a dropin fit.

Well, a 90-91 protege AWD trans is actuly the same aluminum case as a BG Gtx/gtr case. It just had the BF interenals in it and same open center diff that can be locked.
