St. Louis Metro Area Support Group

    Hey-

I see only a couple of people in the 'Missouri' subforum....but I see alot of 2nd gen BH Proteges running around town.

I was thinking of starting a thread for local parts and repair support for the Protege. List what you need or what you have, all years and models (including related cars like the Escort/Capri/Kia/Festiva). Or vehicles spotted in junkyards/Craigslist/parts cars.

Years ago I started a similar thread on the RX7 site (you know which one....) and it was quite popular and effective.

I personally have a 97 LX 1.5 automatic and some parts are hard to find or just crazy expensive and in trying to fix a problem, most people will go thru the entire process of diagnostics when someone else might have already found the solution. Maybe I have an answer, or someone has an answer for me.

    Sooo...anyone out there? MazdaMeister? ProtegeKid?

The idea is more about networking and reaching out to other local people, not just who's got what to sell. It worked well on the other site and made it a little easier for people to connect and get to know each other or some help, whether it's parts or help. Quite often it was a matter of giving something you don't need to someone who has a need, buying and selling wasn't always involved.

But as you wish, parts can stay out of it.

I have a 1991 323 BG series its the stock b6 and soon to be project for BP swap and BPT swap with body work first. i would love to keep in contact cause Only one person in Waynesville has a 323 and its an old lady and no other Mazda projects around. and the same if for springfield so far. just one 323 and its an old dude. maybe ill run into someone with a nice Mazda but i dunno. and parts are super hard to finddddddd, its so annoying. Out of 7 junkyards in the surrounding area. NONE have mx-3,protege, or 323's.

BTW Ft.leonard wood is about 2 hours from STL and Springfield is 4 hours from STL and 2 hrs from Kansas city which has the nearest 323 that i might find some parts on but i doubt it.
