Solid Motor mounts for 323 motor.

    Hey,

Does anyone know of a place online to buy solid Motor mounts for the stock BG/323 motor?

I Think it'll feel much better once i get harder mounts, honestly i'd go completely solid, or be tempted to.

Ive heard its unbearable and shakes the whole car but it cant be that bad...

but also ive never seen or heard of anyone, even with a full out race car, having solid motor mounts as in metal mounting to metal. :dunno:

I just remembered you have to probably get a custom drilled bushing huh...

to do solid mounts because some of them are a bushing with a bolt through it, cant remember. dunno.

Maybe i need one of those fancy engine damper kits =p

I'd get one but they're probably not as good as having solid type motor mounts.

Since we're on the subject, if anyone has input about welding the factory mounts, somehow, making them completely solid, or if you've seen this on another car, or have pictures of a race car bay or something with this on it, please share.

    thanks,

    john

i have solid motor mounts, the car shakes arent too bad, as long as your idle isnt too low.

Yep, after fully welding mine on my escort (front and rear), It was the first modification I did to my protege. There is a little more vibration but the benifits WAY outweigh the downsides.
There are no stupid questions, just stupid people.

AWR makes a really nice set.
I live my life a quarter pounder at a time. And for those 500 calories or more, I'm free. I need FRIES! Two of them. The big ones. Oh, and I need them tonight. You're lucky the double shot of BBQ sauce didn't blow the seam on your nugget box. There she is, 2 pounds of pure beef. My dad ate it in 9.0 seconds flat. Check it out, it's like this. If I lose, winner takes my happy meal. But if I win, I take the burger and the toy. To some people, that's more important.

I do not doubt the rigidity, durability and solidity of your mounts. They are a very innovative and economical alternative to giving good money for something that can be made.

Thanks Sarge, this is exactly what i needed to see.

I don't have a welder or access to scrap metal, so it might take me a while, Plus i don't have an engine hoist for swapping them out. But i'll get around to it one of these days.
