Man I really enjoyed this thread, it makes me want to start on mine now (3:20 am). I'm finally kicking my escort lx (money pit that keeps sucking funds from my egt) to the curb. and getting started on my egt (thats been sitting for a year now) I'm excited to see how yours turns out, so get back to work! What did you used to clean the engine, and the engine bay.

I used engine brite foaming degreaser on the bay, and the same stuff on the engine ,along with wire brush ,wire wheels, sponges and rags.

Its been a while. just wanted to do a small update on the status. I haven't done anything to the car since i moved,in fact its still at my parents. I've been busy(read broke) with the new house and just haven't had the time(and money).I did find a EGT manifold and complete harness ,so id like to redo the wiring again and a do a single can-bus stile engine connector. I have have plans to move the car over in the next couple of months hope to have it move under its own power by the end of the year.

got some cool dollys, helps a ton in a small garage(that your wife insist she must park in)

cleaned the bay up form 4 years of sitting, sandblasted and repainted the valve cover , and started to wire brush the intake. everything is just on for a test fit to make my self feel like I'm making progress, should be ready for a test fire by next weekend. If the engine is good i'll start my megasquirt build and start piecing together a turbo setup.

working on fitting the civic rad...didn't like the idea of using straps.

Made these up in the machine shop at work...hope they fit right since i did all kinda free hand and by eye.

Not really worth the effort to manufacture, I did this at work to uh...um as a skill proficiency and machine shop familiarizing exercise...lol
The rad is $50 ebay civic radiator...after getting and looking at it ,i wouldn't recommend it to anyone. but just search DNA on ebay.
