BG 323 and BG Protege Lower control arm and E-Brake compatibility...

    Hi,

so i'm gonna try to put LX protege 4 wheel disk brakes on my 323.

I'm wondering if the Protege front lower control arms and bushings are the same size as the 323 lower control arms.

I'm starting to gather that they are not the same, but I'm not sure yet.

Also, for the e-brake cable, does the 323 cable hook right up to the protege LX calipers once you swap the rear subframes out.

I have heard of swapping the protege ebrake cable over to the 323, but I'd like a solid opinion before i go and start this project.

The reason i ask about the lower control arms is because the 323 ones have worn bushings, and the protege ones are not as worn and i assume using the whole arm is easier than removing bushings... but i could be wrong.

I was told the brake lines and master cylinder are the same if both cars are a 5 speed.

    Thanks for the advice.

Control arms are identical escort/323/protege just the balljoints will change after 1992 to a larger shank stud @ the spindle.

You need the Protege LX/Escort GT front spindles to run the larger front brakes. (rotors/pads/caliper bracket 22-14)

You need the Protege LX/Escort GT rear spindles (rotors/pads/calipers/cables)

You need to use the parking cable that matches the rear brakes, drum and disk are completely different.

You will also need to change out the proportioning valve located on the firewall, as people say they are different from drum to disk.

    Hope this helps.

Also energy suspension has LCA bushings for our car, and they're fairly cheap. They fit right onto my 90/91 LCAs with barely any press work.
