I think .040". My machinist said if I go bigger I might blow a hole with too much boost.

Is the new motor a Z5 or BP?

Ah, guess you went with another z5.

Did you get the true DOHC one or the on one pulley, gear driven cam setup?

believe it's true DOHC as it has two CAM gears one on each cam shaft
              no chain.

just having a hard time finding something on how to do the timing.

I have a question on the front lip. What kind is it and would it fit a stock bumper or only the mazdaspeed?

it's a mugen lip off of a civic. and it only fits on the JDM bumper. on the USDM bumper it falls short an inch or so on each side. but i'm sure other honda lips might fit.

So a little update on what's been done this summer.

Most importantly at the beginning got rid of all the RUST.

                        - Full polyeurathane DropTec engine mounts

                        Full engine rebuild included
                        - new water pump / timing belt / tensioner pulleys
                        - new oil pump
                        - oversized pistons and rings
                        - blocks been cleaned up. bored out
                        - resurfaced crank
                        - Got rid of the single cam chain driven head and put on a True Dual Over Head
                        - polished head
                        - full gasket kit
                        - Exedy Pro-Kit
                        - Automatic to 5speed conversion
                        - Mazdaspeed exhaust (not installed yet). Looking to get some custom headers and do a full exhaust next spring.
                        - Megan Camber/Toe adjusting links

Lastly sold my XXr's and onto hunting for wheels for next year.

Over the winter planning on tossing back in my audio. rust proofing fresh fenders.

Can't wait to see how it turns out this spring. I think a 5-6 spoke wheel would look really nice.

Wow, that's a lot of work. Can't wait to see the final product. What did you use on the underbody? Trying to get some ideas for mine.
