The new FastTrack is out and my proposal for listing the 90-94 323, Protege, and MX-3 on the same line in the Appendix is in there requesting member feedback. Bottom of page 19.
Please write in a letter of support for this change if you can. I originally wrote my letter requesting the change because I believe the 90-94 BG 323 should be listed with the BG Protege and not with the BF 323. Here is a copy of the letter I wrote.
If you want to write in with support for this proposal (or to not support it) please send a brief letter to http://www.sebscca.com/

Members of the SPAC,
This letter is a request to reword the F Street Preppared classifications for
the Mazda 323(non-turbo) and Protege(1989-98) in Appendix A of the Solo
rulebook.
We first need to clarify the different chassis being represented here. The Mazda
323 (non-turbo) was made between 1986 and 1994 covering 2 different chassis
configurations. The BF chassis ran from 1986-1989 and the BG chassis from
1990-1994. The Protege (1989?-1998) includes the BG chassis (1990-1994) and the
BH chassis (1995-1998).
The BF chassis was available in a 2 door hatchback, 4 door sedan, and 4 door
wagon. For the purposes of FSP the 1.6L SOHC non-turbo motor was available in
all 3 options. The 1990-1994 323 was only available as a 2 door hatchback and
was built on the BG chassis. The BF and BG chassis share very little hardware
that would qualify them being listed together. This separation would mirror
similiar chassis spearations in FSP for other manufactures.
The BG chassis was used as the platform for 3 models from Mazda. The 323 was the
2 door hatchback, the Protege was the 4 door sedan, and the MX-3 was a 2 door
coupe. It was used for these cars between models years 1990-1994. I see no
reason to keep the 1990-1994 323 and Protege listed seperately in Appendix A.
They are built from the same chassis and share interchangeable suspensions,
brakes, drivetrains, electronics, front clips.
This is the wording I would like to see in in the F Street Prepared section of
Appendix A with regards to these models.
Mazda 323 non-turbo (1986-1989)
Mazda 323, Protege, MX-3 4 cyl. (1990-1994)
Mazda Protege (1995-1998)
All other listings for Mazdas in F Street Prepared can remain as they are.
The implications of this change should cause no problems and help group the cars
of similair chassis together as they should be. Please let me know if there are
any concerns or additional questions you may have that I can help with.
