    1989 Mercury Tracer

Sold my 1998 Protege DX last week...So sad to see her go. Did what I really wanted to get done with the vehicle and made a few dollars.

Now I just acquired a 1989 Mercury Tracer (pics coming Thursday) Extremely clean interior and exterior. No dents, dings or scratches. Absolutely no body rust. Only issue is the paint is faded(easy fix seeing how I'm going to paint the car anyway.) Automatic, 1.6 liter, 104,000 miles (yeah baby!) This will be my new project and I hope for some positive feedback from fellow Tracer and 323 owners. This is going to be great!

I have an 87 Mercury Tracer hatchback.
Body is nice but a little rusty underneath.
1.6L manual trans with a carb under the hood.
Not sure what its future holds just yet...

"the danny" on here is building an 88 Tracer.
You might want to PM him since he is further along than I am...

Right now the T Racer is my gf's gravel travler to and from the egg factory. i recently got my '98 protege back and have spent a little more attention to it (profile pic.) I did just fix the rear brakes. I'm thinking a short ram intake for ****s and giggles, as well as decent muffler for good sound outta the three speed's high end in second gear. This thing loves to be driven and doesn't miss a beat....super clean.

Yeah i had an 89 323 which is almost identical, it was a red auto with the b6. I ended up getting in a tight spot for cash so i took the rear disc conversion off of it and a few other odds and ends and scrapped it. Ive been looking for another ever since.

Hard to find in this area. Ive searched and haven't found one within 300 miles. This thing runs better than my 1998 protege, half the miles though, 105,000 now.
