    Cigarette Lighter

93 LX. My cigarette lighter does not work. I tried looking for the fuse. But couldnt find anything. What fuse would I have to look under?

Also, is there a troubleshooting procedure?

if it is like the escort, it is located more under the dash, get down under the steering wheel and look up above the fuse box it should have a cover on it that says cigar. it should also be a 30A fuse

Fyi, cigaret lighter itself, has a "hard wired" fuse on top of lighter body. That's for when you really shortcurcit lighter body contacts. There is no easy way of getting that lighter enclosure out, I had to dissasemble central console in order to take it out. Also, if you blow that wire up, there is no way of replacing only wire, as it is constructed to come with lighter body as a unit, and it's there only as a failsafe if the appropriate fuse in the fuse box stalls.

Look inside and see if there's a bunch of crap in there, sometimes they get gummed up preventing good contact. Get in there with a qtip and alcohol if you dont want to take out the center console like ktmsm mentioned. The green housing is fragile so beware.
