    Wheelman's P5 Build Thread

Hey guys, whats up? I have had my Protege5 for a year now and been working on it for about 6 months. I have been on Mazdas247 and TOProtege for a bit now. I love my car, and its my first one, I am currently a college student and enjoy auto crossing and karting. I registered a while ago so I thought it was time to start posting some stuff up. This is what my car looked like mid summer, but since then I wanted some extra cash for school, so I ditched the "rice" and focused on mods only for function or autox.

And this is how the car currently sits....

    Mods include.....
Engine: AEM Short Ram Intake, NGK Long Reach Plugs and Wires, Optima Red Top, Ported and Polish IM w/ VCYS Removal, MP3 ECU, Racing Beat Axle Back
Drivetrain: ATX to MTX Conversion, Fidanza Lightweight Flywheel, Clutchmasters Stage I Clutch, TWM Short Shifter and Bushings
Suspension: MSP Rear Sway Bar, MSP Rear Sub Frame, Tokico HP Blue Struts, Eibach Pro Kit Springs, MX-6 Rear Strut Bar, Falken Ziex 912's
Interior: Sony Head Unit, DaveB Gauge Rings, Redline Goods Shift and E-Brake Boots, Mazdaspeed Floor Mats, MSP Radio Pocket, MPV Wiper Arm (yet to be installed)
Exterior: LED Plate Lights, Mazda 6 Rear Wiper, CX-7 Stubby Antenna, Tints 5% Rear/20% Front, Fog Light Mod, 6000k HID's, MP3 Wind Splitter, Tribute Washer Nozzles

This winter I am gonna get some R-comps for auto cross. If money allows I would also like to pick up some camber bolts, (probably H&R) and Hawk Pads, as well as Techna Fit SS Brake Lines, but we'll see. Post comments and enjoy! Thanks!

Not at all boring. Nice selection of mods and I've enjoyed reading about them. Since I own an '02 DX our cars and potential mods are quite similar. The Techna-Fit SS brake lines are a worthwhile addition and they make a noticeable increase in braking force. You also might want to consider a Techna-Fit SS clutch line. I also plan to install Hawk pads and slotted discs when I do my next brake job.

Good luck with your additional mods and keep up the good work.

      Happy Motoring!

Thanks, I want slotted rotors up front but can't justify the cost when they will only be used for autox. I am just going to get a fresh set of OEM's paired with Hawk HP+ and swap them in before each event. That way they will get minimal wear and I won't have to deal with the sqeaks lol
