Thanks! Doesn't matter to me too much, Im gonna use megasquirt and do a vaf delete any ways.

Immediate plans are to get the motor stripped down and inspect everything. Probably going to replace the bearings and all hardware along with the seals and gaskets. Any particular vendors to shop from?

Im thinking also about have a manifold made up for a ball bearing tubo of some sort. Any suggestions or threads I should read?

Probably use the vj-20 and gtx manifold on a my bp.

I appreciate any help and or advice

Got the motor out of the escort. Gonna buy a engine hoist in the next couple weeks. Also, my fuel pump came! Looks so tiny but it should be more than enough for my goals.

I was gonna ask for clarification on this. According to wikipedia, lol, the BP-2 is the second generation motor, BPD. It mentions Larger oil squirters, larger crank nose, different head ports and bearing support plate. What I want to know is are all BPD GTR motors or is it that all GTR motors are BPD's? It has the regular GTX intake and vj20 turbo with gtx ex. manifold. Do all BP-2 have the sodium filled valves?

yea bpd = gtr. for some reason the guy had a bp-t turbo on there. so you have sodium valves, squeezecast pistons, forged rods.. good for a lot more power. just ditch that baby turbo

Planning on ditching the baby turbo. Theres a nice ram horn manifold in the fs section with external wastegate Im thinking I might get. Depends on if I sell my 914's this week.

What about the regular GTX intake manifold that is also on it? seems odd.

Ill double check the one that's mounted but the pictures of the gtr manifold are of one that came with the motor separate. It was bought from corksport at sometime.

Oh.. That is a head scratcher then. Measure the oil drain fitting on the oil pan, the gtr one is bigger

Didnt have time to get measurements this morning but upon inspection. The oil drain line from the turbo to the oil pan looks to be oem. Not couplers or adapters, meaning it has the smaller return from the Gtx.

From my understanding, later Gtx motors were also built on the bp2 engine but they did not have the sodium valves, larger turbo and lacked the gtr manifolds. This was the impression I was under when I picked it up. That being said, I am out of my area of expertise when it comes to these motors.

Been working on tearing the motor down. Got the head and both manifolds off. Hopefully gonna pull the bottom end tonight. Pretty clean on the inside. Had to wipe of some oil on the top of the pistons that the po had put in there for protection.

Have a bunch of high res pictures on the girlfriends camera.

Can any of the bpt parts directly bolt on to my b6t during the time I'm building the bpt? Injectors? Turbo? I have the reich racing ecu and I think my mbc is goin out cause I get psi readings of near 15psi sometime and I feel the fuel starvation.

The GTX injectors should work fine for 15psi on the stock turbo. How are you "feeling" the fuel starvation? Are you hearing detonation? Does it just feel like it gets slower at high revs?

Also, I have an engine stand you can borrow lol. Looks like your'e doing disassembly on the floor haha.

This makes me want to update my build thread finally. Totally forgot about it.
