I have read a few stories about the factory suspension on the 2011's being an issue in cold climates. Basically it has to warm up before it becomes soft or it can become damaged or sound clunky. I have also read some complaints about the factory Mazda rotors being junk. I checked mine the other day and they are already grooved (652 miles) so as soon as they are out of warranty I will be getting aftermarket rotors and hawk hps pads.

That's an unanswerable question at the moment. Naturally, we have no way of knowing how many members will ultimately use a 2 section other than nerd racing. I'm interested in the 2 from a technological standpoint but I can't say I'd necessarily buy one at this point. I'd like to see if it's planned to offer the model with a SkyActiv-G engine at a later date. Perhaps the best thing to do would be to wait and see if a groundswell develops for this car and then make a decision as to whether another section is warranted. In the meantime, those who are interested in the model can just continue to post information about it in the General Automotive section.

I'm just concerned about the future of CP and whether or not it will have one as more of our members give up their old machinery for new models, including the 2, and find our Forum no longer serves their needs.

Of course, I could be wrong so look at this as me just kicking ideas around.

        Happy Motoring!

I also noticed it has an intermediate shaft on the transmission and has the 5th gear set separate under a stamped steel cover just an F or G series transmission. I'm running about 3,000 RPM at 65 on the thruway. If it is a G-series variant I want to do a 5th gear swap down the road after the powertrain warranty runs out.
Just for comparative purposes, at 65 mph in 5th gear my Protege runs at 2,933 rpm (calculated); 2,980 rpm (observed) on my digital tach. The 3 in 5th gear runs at 2,710 rpm (calculated); no observed figure because I haven't driven the car lately as it's my wifes' whip. Of course, the observed figure will be approximate since the car has the old-fashioned analog tach but I'll post it when I obtain it.

Embrace digital, it's the wave of the future.

I will use it for sure if you make one, I know a couple friends who either have 2's or will within the year that I can steer over here.

On another note, this tank has been mostly 40-55 mph speeds, with GREAT results:

I can't wait till after the 1500 mile break in period is over, most people see 1-2 mpg increases.
