    Xaviers 1993 LX Sedan

Not sure where to start, but I feel like a story is in order.

A little over a year ago I owned a 1991 Tracer, it had gotten to such a state of disrepair and rust that I couldnt continue to keep up with it between traveling for work and not having the facilities to fix it myself. I decided the best thing to do was sell it, and get into a new Escort car so I could use all my parts I had hoarded. Well, I sold the car and began the hunt for an White Sedan, but nothing showed itself for miles around. I eventually settled on a 89 Honda CRX HF, on which the transmission imploded less than 3 weeks later. I left it ditched on the side of the road and hitchhiked home (150 miles) the next morning I logged onto CL immediately and found what I had been looking for. 120k Mile Sedan, One/Adult Owner, and straight as hell! Only thing missing was the BP, but I had one or two of those sitting around.

Pics of Tracer that made me love these cars. Simple KYB/Sprint suspension setup, Rota Grids with Nitto Neogens, intake and Exhaust, custom upholstered headliner, MX3 lower center console, MX-3 shift knob/boot and MX-3 Steering wheel.

Finding this Escort sitting on CL got me all excited, called the guy and he only lived 3 blocks away from me. Took it for a test drive (bone stock) and knew I had to have it, It was mine within the hour!

Not long into it, I got the itch quick. Purchased new wheels within the first couple of months. Enkei RPF1s Mint and with brand new tires, couldnt pass up the deal I got.

These had the car screaming at me to lower it, so I began the search for something to handle the task, and to be able to slam it into the weeds.
Ksport had just released their V2 coilover bodies, with revised design to withstand maximum low. See Here

    Oooh, piece of candy!

I gathered up all my hoarded parts and and put a little something together that might go in later on down the road. But it wont be any regular BP if I do swap it.

And then came parts from the land of the Rising Sun. Purchased some Volk TE37s recently, 15x6.5 +38 * lbs a wheel :D , wrapped in Yokohama AD08s. Still havent seen it in person, (been on the road for work) but I got a pic or two to share!

And to catch you guys up to where I am at now. Just made a purchase over at Pierce Motorsports. Bought Jims 4 point tie brace (gussetted) for the front end, and the 2 point Tie-bar for the rear. Looking forward to having them sitting at home waiting for me to install when I get home from work. Looking forward to becoming a regular over here, sharing what I know, and learning what I can, Ive got a lot to learn for what level I want to take this car to. :D

Thanks fir the space and hope you guys enjoyed the read!

Glad you finally started a build thread. Saw it in person at the IR208, looked nice so far. What do you do for work that has you traveling so much? You should see my car at the track next year. Gonna break into the 12's. I also want to start auto-x with the new suspension in the next year or so. I would be down for some late night fun over there, but I never know where "Mexico" is. lol

I've decided that my car is a girl, she's picky as hell, won't listen to me, always wants to fight me, and when i give her presents it's never good enough and she always wants more.

Looking good! You'll probably need to raise the front a little after the four point tie bar goes in. Are you going to add a skid plate?
Before you criticize someone, first try walking a mile in their shoes. Because then you'll be a mile away, and you'll have their shoes...

Thanks, its got a ways to go. My other car has me hooked on AWD so im having a hard time letting the Drivetrain swap idea die.

Ah yes, IR208, the car was definitely not ready to be out there for show, lol. I plan on winning something with both cars next year! Im an Ironworker, part of a dieing breed. Im hoping i am home next year to be at the track, would love to finally meet up with a fellow BG enthusiast from the neighborhood. If im home, all you gotta do is let me know if your swinging through Boise, would love to show you Mexico, lol. About that VJ20 setup... how bout I scoop it up next paycheck? :D

I know itll have to come up for clearance issues, kinda bummed, lol. No need for a skid plate really, so I dont think i will be adding one.

I like it too! I suggest to not add the GT bumpers to it though, it would spoil the look (if that was ever a thought). I think it just needs some Tracer corners and tint your tails all red and she's set lol. Simplicity seems to work with that car in my mind.

Looks like my suspension Techniques front and rear anti-swaybars are shipping in the next couple of days. This thing is going to handle on rails once I get my hands on a steering rack to depower, and buy some of Ryans Aluminum LCA bushings. #Fyea

I know im at least going to do the EGT sideskirts. I loved them on my last car. Cant decide on bumper swap or not, if I find one thats a deal, ill swap it just to see how I feel. I dont want it to look base model forever, lol.

Speaking of not leaving anything untouched, I have decided Im all in for this project, BP is getting swapped in and boosted with Deadly sleepers VJ20 setup, and Im in touch with Jim pierce to get some goodies headed my way!

Went ahead and bought AWR front and rear roll stop mounts for the BP swap, and the Roodwerks Passenger side solid mount that Pierce sells. Now if only deadly sleeper would commit to selling me his VJ20 setup, hint hint. Ive decided im prepping this car for full AutoX duties after drooling over XelderX's and Concealer/ciento44's build threads. Much more to come!

The last week or so has brought alot of things into the hoarding pile for this car.

                          AWR/Roodwerk Mounts have arrived.
Pierce Motorsports Front Tubular LCA's (may have shipped by now)
FE3-323 Spherical bushings for the Rear of the LCAs
                          Some Minty Fresh LX Mudflaps
And A steering rack for me to properly debowel and convert to a true manual steering setup

Also cancelled my order on Ebay for the ST Front and rear Swaybars, had taken 9 weeks and still no word on when it was going to ship. Dug around for a bit and found an ADDCO 7/8s rear anti-sway, and the Front ST add-on Antisway. Any opinions on whether or not I should dig up an Escort ZX2 front sway to complement the ST Add-on bar?

Onto pics of used parts, lol. No pics of my nice purchases.

Cant wait to tear the guts out of this thing!

And some OEM mudflaps my friend picked up for $10!

I just thought Ide post up and let you know how much I love your sedan. Enough, actually, that I saved pics of it on my computer and when it came time to find an Escort of my own, I looked long and hard for either a silver or white 4 door LX. I searched and searched and couldnt find anything worth a flip within a couple hundred miles of me. One morning I jumped on Craigslist like usual and found this sucker posted up about 20 minutes from me.

I looked at it, drove it and bought it the next day! Mines not in as good shape as yours but Ive fixed everything it seems to have needed and now love the hell out of it. I look forward to droppin it down and puttin some decent wheels on it and plan on keepin it fairly simple and clean looking. She gets unGODly gas mileage so no plans on motor mods at the moment. Anyways, keep us updated on yours, I love it and it gives me inspiration for my own!!!
