Decided to assemble one side of my oil return line to see how big a pain the Chinese domestic market AN fittings are to deal with summit hose. I want to say I had an easier time than the last time I used some earls fittings. I didn't mar the paint too bad either considering I was using standard hand tools and a vice instead of $200 worth of aluminum AN spanners.

I could probably get another 1/8th a turn on it but this is a low pressure line so I'm not going to bother.

found out my 2 hole bumper mounting tabs were breaking....so i decided to add in the other 4 mounting bolts(only had 2 in originally)
fixed the burned out gauge cluster lights & replaced my tripometer push button.... getting closer to installing the front spindles & mazda 6 front brakes...

chasing down a random misfire under load, figured it might be oil on the plugs like on a BP so I decided to replace the plugs and valve cover gasket, and finally install my unicorn sparkle magic valve cover while I was at it. the plugs for cylinders 3 and 4 had a little oil on the threads but nothing major, and the one for cylinder 2 had a badly cracked insulator (like, a chunk fell out in my hand). so that explains that.

God what a hideously laid out engine bay.

Checked the plugs today because it had been a while(~3 years 25k?) and I had developed a bad cold idle. Cylinder one had eaten the electrode. I was quite impressed. 2-4 were worn but still good. Plug hole #3 ,which has always been troublesome, had sized plug number 3 though.I filled it to the brim with PB blaster and got it out an hour later with minimal issue. At some point I'm going to need to repair the threading if this head stays on the car.

Also replaced the ghetto penny fixed clutch slave for a proper one. Put longer and higher grade bolts to replace the short ungraded ones previously holding the clutch slave on. I'm sure the trans mounting points will snap off before I shear another bolt off.
I also went though the trouble of adjusting pedal height and free play. Pedal feel is stupidly good. Topped up the gear oil as well. Wasn't as low as I was expecting considering how much the case itself weeps. I'm starting to lose third, the transmission will have to be the next big project.

I hope I can scavenge enough money for the mfactory sooner than expected.

Bought that wagon. Silly 1.9l. It runs fine, oil everywhere. Won't go into reverse. I think the shifters dropped through the floor. Maybe that's why no reverse? Otherwise fairly clean. Small rust spot under passengers floor. Some surface rust here and there. Clear coat is fubar. Paint peeling and generally yucky inside and out. Hopefully the majority of the mx3 interior will pop right in. Gotta get the motor swapped in before I look at anything else. Super pumped. I'll get pics tomorrow.

I had a DC2 integra that refused to go into reverse. The box itself was capable of doing it and replaced the linkages with new ones and still wouldn't. It had to be a combination of things I was not willing to figure out. I sold it after three months for more than I paid for it, make sure all the gears work before you buy a car.

Getting the BG inspected tomorrow. I hope the chillax shop from half a decade ago is still such.

leaving the store, noticed that my speedo wasn't working (a few days after I'd seen it dip while at a constant speed). used my tachometer repair method (smack the top of the dash), speedo works again. ****ing electronic bull****.

going to see if I can make the odometer on the S/R cluster I got from Cody match the one in my car so I can get it in the car finally. really hoping it's the cluster telling me to go **** myself (tach hasn't worked right for over two years) and not the VSS going bad.

Made 1/4" steel brackets to eliminate crossmember for pending turbo kit for my KL swapped ZX2. I don't know if these will hold, we shall see, these plates should be the strongest piece on the entire car. Missing one bolt in the rear because it is broken and grinded off, I will eventually fix it before boosting.

I think the bracket will hold fine, but I feel like the radiator support will keep flexing and crack. It would be better with a gusset on the top or a bar bolted to both tow hook spots and the mount attached to that.
