Middle of a city makes the difference. Everything I do is on my gravel driveway, but I'm nowhere close to any cities.

pulled the LR coilover assembly out of the car to see if something was loose that was causing the knocking noise in the corner over certain bumps.

nothing loose, but the shock is blown, so that's exciting.

Was going to ship the car last week, but the water pump **** the bed. I didn't replace it at the oil seal/timing belt replacement because I could of sworn it was less than 50k miles old. If I had to venture I killed it by back flushing the heater core because of the impending death winter I'll be facing with it.

It was not fun replacing it with loaner tools and no torque wrench that would fit in the area.Surprisingly it was leak free on the first pass. Also I noticed I might have the incorrect crank bolt on the engine. The shoulder is not nearly long enough as there was a nice layer of dried coolant on the threads that baffled me for a bit. The engine is due for an overhaul in the next year or two so I guess I'll just keep an eye on it.

I always feel bad for the inspectors when they have to mark all the defects on my car. It would be easier to just note the areas that aren't ****ed up. I didn't keep the fog light covers on, I hope they don't get cracked in travel.

replaced my outer tie rods and rear wheel bearings, did a quickie alignment to re-set the toe, then went cruising with my friends in their 240s.

Last 2 days, my codriver and I have put many many hours into Humpty the Rallykar. Dead turbo is out and fresh one in, bent crossmembers out and new one is almost modded enough to work with GT4 trans, a few other problems addressed. Which just leaves approx. countless more hours to go before it runs again.

Tie rod ends, ball joints, brake lines, rewired the horn, replaced some burned out bulbs, got the inspection yesterday and made three passes tonight. Best of 16.1 @ 89mph... what's launching again?

Compression test showed no compression in cylinder 2. Walls look a little scored but they still have most of the cross hatching left. Tops of the pistons are caked in carbon. Taking a closer look tomorrow.

In retrospect, dumping it in 2nd from 7k, bald direzzas, and missing third didn't help. People seemed to get the impression I came there to blow it up.
