Actually getting to work on my protege has been nice. Borrowed my buddies ar gun ( I need to just buy my own) and a 3 jaw puller. Got the axles out of the rear spindles. Lowered the subframe a bit to so I could pull the ttl bolts.

I need to sort these stupid rear trailing arm bushings. I have a few different poly ones but none fit the trailing arms I have. getting pretty frustrated. Regardless I hope to get this all sorted soon and get the car down on all 4 wheels again soon.

Looks like fitting a 3 inch exhaust over the awd subframe is gonna be a pain too. I love this car lol.

Why not try oval tubing in that area?

We will see how this goes lol.

Stock bushings fell out of the control arms. All the whiteline and super pro stuff doesnt fit so i ordered egt energy suspension bushings. They fit! Lol. The bfg sport comp 2s are beef. 195s on a 7 inch wide wheel and they still bulge a bit lol. Everything will clear though.

....im on my phone. I dont have the app. I dont see anything to upload photos lol.

Getting close to finishing my 1999 Wagon's BP swap. Haven't spent a ton of time on it, due to being more focused on getting my house ready to sell next summer, but I have put in an hour here and an hour there. Engine and trans have been mounted for a month. all of the 5speed swap stuff is in place, other than a shift boot...

I'm about an hour or two from finishing the Engine harness. It's a complete Hybrid of a 99 Auto SPI engine harness and a 91 5sp Protege, and will be completely plug and play... The nice thing about third gen's is that the ATX stuff is in the engine harness, not the chassis harness, So the swap to 5sp is fairly simple... I kept power and ground distribution from the 99, including the CCRM, which means I now have 2 speed fan control, low is triggered off the Thermo switch, high off the A/C (A/c is completely 99 SPI, with a custom bracket to bolt to BP block)

Now I just have to run a return fuel line, Swap in the rear discs, figure out a shift boot, and I want to use the Remote Antitheft Personality's (RAP) trunk pop signal (not used in a wagon) to instead set off a relay chain reaction that will be a homemade Remote start... I bought a remote start kit, but hate the remote, and since I already have a remote with a wasted button, I believe I can accomplish remote start, (with all the anti-theft precautions of a traditional remote start) and when I figure it out, I'll post a diagram/parts list and How-to with a video.

In-all, I've grown to really like this wagon, the third gen has quite a few upgrades over a second gen, (other than drivetrain, and only if you can get past the bizarre Dashboard design) after winter It will get the Koni Red/Ksport coilovers from my 94 because they ride like stock without any body roll. With a 2 year old son, and a second son on the way, I'm thrilled about the creature comforts and decent performance this 99 wagon will offer when complete. Should be a livable family hauler that I can auto-cross for now, and a good base for more power/brakes/grip in the future.

                              91 F150
                              94 Escort Wagon BP swap
                              99 Escort Wagon BP swap

That sounds like what I need. With the motor being destroyed in my protege, I was trying to find a escort wagon and have this shop swap in a bp,, to no avail. So Imma just have them no swap the protege and install the factory coils and do a little interior refresher to all black.
