A few more parts continue to roll in by the postman. Slow progress is progress.

FINALLY got the freaking gauge cluster out!!! I knew it would be easy when I figured it out. And omfg is it ever. /facepalm Went forth to replace the bulbs with LED as all but like 3 are out, and I discovered I have the wrong led type. SOB. W/e... pulled bulbs from a few warning lights that are useless (and the belt light) to get the actual gauges illuminated again. It's amazing being able to see at night now.

LED lighting is the SHIZ when you get the right ones put in you'll be in love.
do note that any of the accessory red color indicators you'll want a warm white light. if you get anything but it'll have a pink hue.

Hm.. ok cool. thanks. I didn't bother to completely disassemble the cluster. one the backside of the gauge faces themselves, is that the green tint/film? I'd rather have white light if at all possible, but don't wanna run into any work to get it there

I found an article about removing integrated tint on a Subaru forum a while back. Don't know if anybody's tried it on one of our Mazdas/Fords.

if it's the same **** that the ZX2 has (and I'm guessing it is) those nerds have it sorted out already- IIRC you can just use a razor blade or something to scrape the tint off.

I sanded mine and made it clear like six years ago... Then I hit it with opaque yellow, orange, and red so it fades from yellow to red from the center of the gauges out... it was easy.

Ordered a few more bits, and replaced the front brake pads.

Rotors are definately on the list to be replaced.

What are performance brake rotor recomendations? I have a shopping list for tirerack, but if other have tips to consider, than bingo-bango.

Should get some work done towards the end of the month. *fingers crossed*

Get 3rd gen brembo blanks, they fit. Get some good pads, bleed the system and you'll be amazed. I'm about to do the same thing.

Hm.. why do you recommend them? Just added a full set to the cart as their a good price at least. did a little bit of quick research on them. But afraid they could be 'ebay junk'.....

btw ,that was for ABT. I've looked for brembo blanks, can't find a source. parts store doesn't carry them.
