Are you thinking you might need to use wheel spacers???It won't hurt to use longer studs.

i wasn't sure if i would need spacers in the back- the front i don't foresee ever needing spacers tho

Installed the glass sunroof (ty bombdoutscort) and sold the BG to my brother. Noticed oil caked all over the passenger control arm and side of the block on the pulley side. Looked through the FSM and realized at some point in its bastardized state the crank pulley boss was lost. When the crank bolt was torqued more than likely it crushed the oil pump seal without the extra width of the boss. Local dealership wants $200+. Some dealer in Arlington is asking $90 shipped.

besides, the BP at least has TDC marks for the crank and cams. the Zetec has slots in the cams for a lock tool for cam TDC (which doesn't do a lot for the dickhead VCT setup) and nothing for the crank, you basically just aim it slightly to the right of 12 o'clock and hope for the best.

The crank actually does have something. There is a bolt on the radiator side of the block near the transmission and oil pan that you remove and insert a pin. It's a little hard to feel even with the proper tool kit and you have to remove the cat/down pipe to access it. The MZR is identical except it uses a different length pin.

?? I just did a timing belt on an 01 ZX2. I bought an aftermarket tool kit that covers both engines. Zetec and Duratec.

yeah, it works on every other Zetec except for the ZX2, can't remember why. puts it like 180 out or something.

In avoiding a collision the other day I managed to miss-shift and over rev the engine quite substantially.

I was happy to drive away with only a mild knock instead of a hole in the block.

It sounds like the number 3 bearing is kill but I've never been very good at determining things from sound location.

I'm going to be a dirtbag and just replace the bearing(s) and hope it last till winter break.

I'd rather do that and ruin a set of $50 bearings than have the block self machining for three months.

Also dug my old block out of wood work and it appears to have a misaligned crank. Fun times.

Damn seat belts!
Sportsman's Guide (hunting, fishing, mil surplus etc) right now have brand new US govt surplus seat belts for $10/pair! 3 point retractables.

The stalk side is little long (12") but I figure I can deal with that OK.
Belts are 112" long total, grey or black.
I bought 5 pr last night, get rid of all the stranglers in my cars.
Some of them are pretty nasty from wear, and some of them are blocked in place.
The rest of them keep trying to kill me.
