    ZX2 SR struts discontinued

Was over on team zx2 and saw a thread saying they are no longer made. I went on ford racing and sure enough, they are discontinued. Jegs, Summit, and zxtuner are all sold out. Jegs atill has them listed, but they just haven't updated their site yet. So don't order them from any of those three places, as you won't be getting any from them.

Just thought I'd let everyone know.

You don't like SR struts? I myself wish I had boughten a set of them before they were gone. I wanted to run them on my next race car I build as they are so much stiffer. But I didn't have $200 to spend on parts I won't need for another year or two.

I prefer KYB over the SR struts personally. Night and day difference.

Brody, you should try those new struts showing up on ebay from Lo-Tech? I think they're called. A mbr is running them on his car w/o issues. Supposed to be valved for lowering springs, ect.

I don't really trust those struts yet. They aren't proven. And they aren't a name brand. I think I might go with Tokico Blues on the next race car. I want the stiffest shocks I can get. This will not be for a street car. It is race only. Does anybody know the stiffest strut available for our cars? I always thought they were the SR's followed by the HP.

Koni Red inserts are the stiffest. Blues are ok but you will go threw a lot of them GR2's would be my next choice. I have reds on the AWD mx and I love the crap out of them.

                        inserts are around $150/ea, iirc.

I love my Tokico blue struts though (installed in the rear) they're taking a #200 spring real well.

hacking up old struts to use the lower mounting section, then slide the insert into there and secure via nut on the bottom.

I've had the sr's and the gr2's, with the same springs on both,1.8in Progress lowering springs same suspension mods and i have to say the gr2's are better across the board. My car def does not bottom out as much as the sr's did, (some say the shaft of .5in shorter) and rides much better. Even the gf noticed.

I had 20xxx miles on my sr's and they never blew, so i guess I had a good set and now a board member on here has them. But price for price (bought my gr2's from rockauto.com for a little over 200), the gr2's get my vote, so like said above, nothing lost, for the cost anyway.

Now, talking inserts and the such, thats a while nother' game and price range. But what I've read, the Tokico Blues and the next best for the cost for any import. But not good enough for me to pay twice as much. Oh no.

                              Not ranting, just saying.
